26) Patrick Bamford's an International striker.
That's still the funniest joke I've ever heard. Belter.
27) Patrick Bamford's a Premier League striker.
Another corker.
Ken Bates is a football man. He can only make money at Leeds by bringing success

Just factually true at the time though, wasn't it?
Not sure you know how this works batty 🤦
Bluememe with his Grayson obsession.

I remember that guy, yeah had a really strange obsession with him didn't he? - was he always flying the flag for Martin O'neil? or am I remembering that wrong?
27) Bamford brace!
Some forum members now undergoing psychiatric treatment especially those who thought giving him a long contract was a good idea.

28) - Neil Warnock appointed manager - finally taking a positive step to promotion
29) - whos this Bielsa fellow, I'm not impressed, foreign managers simply don;t get team promoted.
30) - Roofe was the key to getting us promoted
oh hang on, sorry this needs to be posted on Lubo's 'things the drearys attacked over the years"
sorry Lubes, couldn't resist - I'm just pulling all ya plonkers a little
The worst ones for me are when a decent player leaves and you always get the 'he wasnt that great anyway' good riddance rubbish.

Seem to remember people defending Kinnear's
statement when others laughed at it (Bamford played
60 minutes in a friendly against Andorra).
And they continue to defend Bamford saying Leeds
can't function without him in the #9 shirt.
See your title: "The things the Cretins have defended"
"Modern strikers don't need to score."
"Bamford holds the ball up."
"Without Bamford we lose our shape."
"Bamford's a leader."
3 of them are correct though 🤷🏻♂️
chaps for comedy value have a look at a thread on the Liverpool pages (will try and find it) - basically a United fan slammed the signing of Salah 'a poor mans this and other'.... last time I checked, maybe about a year ago, it was still rumbling on , 4 or 5 year old thread - really good fun poking, history books coming out the lot.
Just a bit of Bantz, a lot take stuff this on here far too personally.
like when LIW told us all how much better he'd play as a youngster on a different bit of grass at closer to home rather than a bit of grass 3 miles up the road classic fun, nowt wrong with it.
Batty has confused the premise of this thread between things other people were wrong about and things that he was wrong about.

tbf I'm sure I told everyone on here Paveda guna be the next Messi... yeah defo number 26 on threads list is that
or whatever number we're on:
31) Paveda an utterly superb find, and the next sensation, played for Barca, great player (a Spanish one that one )
So many on that original list put up there I'm guilty of.

“Do you think they’d have bought us if they didn’t have any money to invest?”
Hi Jonty. I am at a loss as to why GFH got involved. Maybe a quick buy and sell or strip the club's assets? A mystery to me. I don't think investment was their priority!

Poveda could be like Kalvin. To some seemingly not good enough to be in a promotion winning side, but given the right coaching became an integral part to it?
Not saying he will by any means .... but perhaps DF can get more out of him like MB did with Kalvin?
------------------------
thats it VOF, fly the Paveda flag with me, great player... always said it, fantastic future ahead of him.
