Hojlund is desperate to join us I reckon. He's even viewed an Instagram story I tagged him in a few minutes ago!

Before EtH we were awful at actually developing and improving players, pretty much every player we bought ended up worse than when we bought them.

EtH seems to be changing that and he has actually been buying players round the 25 year mark (Mount 24, Onana 27 and Martinez 24) which is good.

Yep recruitment has been poor. But I do think a major issue has been that lack of investment in players in, or approaching, their prime. Past it players and players that aren’t even it yet aren’t going to lead to successful teams.

Beekers (24)
Telles (27)
Maguire (26)
Fernandes (24)
Fred (25)
Lukaku (24)
Lindelof (24)
Sanchez (on the older side but 29)
Mkhy (26)
Pogba (23)
Bailly (23)
Schneiderlin
Darmian
Di Maria
Rojo
Herrera
Fellaini
Kagawa

I got bored filling them all in but these players weren't far off their peak years or at it when we signed them so I still think it's more poor judgement on players rather than the actual age they are when we sign them

That looks a lot but that is over a 10 year period where we bought 46 players. Yes it is also poor judgement and not developing players.

But that’s over ten years. The issue is not having enough any given season. Obviously the recruitment of specific players in that age bracket has been a problem. But I think the impact of it becomes worse when you are having to rely on so many players that aren’t in their prime as well.

Yes it is over a long period, I was just pointing out we've bought quite a few players around their peak, there's 18 players there, had they have worked out, they could've played for 5 or 6 seasons maybe. Also, most on that list weren't cheap either. I left off players like Wan Bisaka as they were on the young side when signed

Paris St-Germain have made a take-it-or-leave-it bid of 50m euros (£42.8m) for Atalanta forward and Manchester United target Rasmus Hojlund.

The Denmark striker is top of the Red Devils' wanted list this summer.

Manager Erik ten Hag is desperate to conclude a deal, with United convinced they can sign the 20-year-old before their Premier League opener against Wolves at Old Trafford on 14 August.

However, PSG have now made their interest known.

Their move is not thought to be connected to the uncertainty around Kylian Mbappe.

PSG officials are convinced Mbappe has no intention of leaving the club during the current transfer window and that the world record £259m bid from Saudi Arabia club Al Hilal will lead nowhere.

It has been reported Mbappe does not wish to talk to Al Hilal representatives.

Understand Hojlund prefers Manchester United move, Atalanta want Mason Greenwood as part of the deal on permanent contract. United understood to be very keen for this to go ahead.

PSG have offered the player higher wages than the reported 330k a week United have offered, and are open to a player swap.

Those wages seem a bit crazy. In fact, they seem a lot crazy.

Would be great to get rid of Greenwood as part of the deal though. Hopefully kill two birds with one stone. The rumour about Atalanta wanting him as part of the deal was been ongoing for a few weeks, so hopefully there is some truth in it.

£1m a week is crazy to be fair for an untested kid.

Manchester United prepared to go up to 395k a week in order to fend off PSG’s latest bid. Understand this falls short of what PSG are offering, but Hojlund prefers a move to Manchester. A sticking point is Greenwoods wages, Atalanta not prepared to pay the full amount Greenwood wants, but United are understood to be considering lowering their value of him to ensure he goes, or possibly subsidizing his wages for the first year.

Let's just make Greenwood Atalanta's problem.

They'll need a marksman up front when Hojlund joins us.

Standard us having to take a lower fee to allow the buying club to pay a bigger signing on fee to subsidize wages. Just get him out of the club so we can move on.

Surely there's no way we're offering £300k+ wages, what's he on at the moment, 50k?

If we do it would seem we haven’t learnt our lessons over the past 10 years

£300k a week is worth it though if he hits the ground running and stays with us for the next decade or so.

Its a big if though. I like the look of the signing, but for those kinds of wages you would expect someone that is more proven.

We offering no more than 100k euros per week, you are falling for click bait guys about anything more.

Seriously £330k a week for what is a big risk anyway, does this club never learn?
