Totally dominated 105m rice in the ecfl final too. Looks decent

posted on 28/7/23

I think the rumours are definitely credible, but probably getting Højlund done and moving a midfielder on before we get a deal done for him.

That's not hard. Even Keita used to dominate Rice.

The Maghreb McTominay

Most of the rumours that stick nowadays tend to have some truth to them, so maybe he is our 1st option if we sell a midfielder.

Not really a real question is it if the suggestion is it is a better option than mctominay

... never mind Sofyan Amrabat, a sofa and a rabbit would be a better option in that scenario.

Still don't get why he cost so much.

"I know ETH only likes to one deal at a time"

Does he? I don't think he does.

He's hinted a few times he wants players in "yesterday, not tomorrow"

Don’t get why he’s so overated too.

I would take him any time over Fred, McT and Erickson. I hope we get him.

ETH doesn't do the deals.

He identifies what the squad needs, along with Murtough and Co.

He and the scouts discuss potential additions with Murtough and Co.

Murtough and Co then go and do the deals. Although ETH may discuss his footballing vision with the target.

Interesting. Also, does Ten Hag decide which youth team players are promoted to the first team squad?

posted on 28/7/23

He'll have his idea of who he wants and will discuss it with the hierarchy.

The approach to transfer strategy comes from Murtough, The Glazers and co.

Imo Amrabat will be done within a few days of McT/Fred leaving. Hope so anyway, good player and much needed position/profile for our midfield options.

Where do you get "ETH only likes to do one deal at a time from", OP? It has been an accusation levelled at the club's transfer team's lack of agility since long before Ten Hag.

As to whether it's happening, I'd imagine there's no way we sign him before selling Fred, and it's quite possible it's contingent on selling McTominay as well.

I'm not sure why but I thought Amravati was around 30 so would be a short term stop gap but at 26, he's a good option. Doesn't look like he'll break the bank & if we get the WC version, he'll be covering every blade of grass so exactly what ETH likes, no brainer for me

posted on 28/7/23

Not sure we should be signing old reject players that failed at Watford ffs.

posted on 28/7/23

He's a very good defensive DM and disrupter but he's not a top footballer.

Probably perfect for what we lack in the squad though. Away trips to Anfield and Emptyhad won't be as hellish with both him and Casemiro in the middle.

I'd imagine whoever looks after the academy would determine who was ready, and then consult with Murtough, with ETH signing off anyone joining his group.

I feel that's exactly what we need in midfield, we have players like Bruno, Erikson & Mount that play the other role, we need a disrupter, even moreso when Casimero serves his inevitable suspensions

I doubt it’s as close as some reported.

Romano has said there is interest there but it’s likely to depend on outgoings which Ornstein has backed up.

posted on 28/7/23

He’s far better on the ball and with his passing than his label as a ‘disrupter’ would suggest tbf.
