Are you really complaining that Levy won’t replace the best striker in the world with a shiiiiiit striker that sits on Juve’s bench who they will upgrade with Lukaku?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Lol as if they’ve seen him play

It’s articles like this that make the rest England think Spurs fans are mental. Or Southern Scousers. Take your pick.

Ange has my full trust. Don't care if it takes a year for the team to click. I just have to ignore Levy exists till he doesn't
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why do you trust AussieGlue? You haven't seen him manage the damned squad in a game yet!
This team will not have anywhere near "a year to click". If they're anywhere near relegation zone by Christmas...Aussieglu will be gone and the boat will be rocking, and Levy will be doing another manager search.
Finally...you cannot ignore Levy until he goes, along with Lewis, uncle Tom Cobberly, ENIC and ALL .... as the song goes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don, spending lots of money doesn't necessarily mean clubs improve their team.

Didn't Chelsea spend £600 million last season to go from 3rd to 12th.

Think before you post mate.

Think Levy has totally given up any ambitions on the football side now. With Newcastle, Arsenal and Chelsea owners spending hundreds of millions it's not even profitable to aim for a CL place.

He'll just continue to milk the fans and the stadium dry as the football team get progressively worse.

Tottenham Hotspur are a big brand but a small football club

Exactly what levy and Enic want. Sheep who just Chuck money at them week in week out without complaint. It’s a shame. I expected spurs fans to be more protective of their heritage. Instead they’ve allowed thieves to take it in front of their eyes.

How do you know they are going to get progressively worse, the season hasn't even started yet.

No one knows how next season is going to pan out. Did anyone see Arsenal puttingbinva title challenge last season, when they could not even make top four the season before. Did anyone think Brighton would make European football? It's all heresy at the moment.

Personally I think Spurs have a good squad now, CBs apart, and should have a very decent season.

We know we'll get worse because that trajectory has already given us enough data to see where we're heading.

We baulked at the cost of a Prem proven Raya to be first choice goalkeeper only to then see Arsenal have a bid accepted to likely be their second choice. If that's not a damning explanation of our lack of ambition I don't know what is. We took a punt on an untested Italian at 17m instead.

Then there's Solomon. A player largely on the bench for FULHAM. That says everything. Not bought for his skill set but his profitability. Even if he doesn't play, the club will make money from his sale. That's all the owners care about, not whether he's right for the team.

Arsenal have signed a top centre back for £40m just to strengthen an already decent backline and have spent another £180m on Rice and Havertz.

We've signed nobody for a defence considered one of the worst in the league last year.

Wake up Sandy!!!! Stop defending our owners. We're going nowhere with these guys and one by one the clubs around us are getting more and more ambitious. We're getting worse as a product of others getting better. It's not even about who we've signed. It's about us standing still whilst others move on.

Spending £180 million on Rice and Havertz is a complete joke. One is a defensive midfielder, worth about £40 million tops, and the other has been a complete flop at Chelsea, and they pulled Arsenals pants right down over that deal, as did West Ham ovet the Rice deal. Arsenal have overpaid by about £100 million for both those players.

Sorry Sandy but if you think Rice is a 40m player in this market then that confirms to me you know nothing about football. He's the nearest thing I've seen to Roy Keane and he's worth a hell of a lot more than 40. The point is that they've strengthened in an area already strong with Partey. That's the takeaway from all this. They're spending 10x what we are on depth alone.

Sure Havertz didn't set the world alight at Chelsea but how many Arsenal signings in recent years have bombed? Not many. We all laughed at the Ramsdale deal. He's turned into a real player. We all laughed at the Zinchenko signing, he's revolutionised and now mimicked the City false full back system perfectly. If Arsenal have seen something in Havertz and are willing to spend that much on him then I think it stands to reason that he's got something we can't yet see. People in the game know players. They know what they're buying. There's a reason Lampard spent so much on him the first time around. I'd rather listen to seasoned pros than some old fella on a football forum regarding his chances of success.

Whether you think they're good enough or not isn't really the point. It's about ambition, whether they fail or not. Arsenal are showing it in abundance, Spurs aren't at all. You can't deny that.

Bookmark this one fellas. Apparently Rice is on par with Eric Dier in midfield.

I watch a lot of football, Sandy, way more than just the Spurs games. I KNOW how good he is. You need to open your eyes to other teams because it's giving you a warped perception of how good Spurs are. Look around. Everyone else is getting better. We're not. If you watched more than just Spurs games, you'd know that.

posted on 2/8/23

I guess the issue Sandy is that whether they overpaid or not Arsenal got the player they probably needed.

I'm kind of torn on this subject. Do I want Spurs to massively overpay for a player? No, but to be honest that's more because I find the value of players full stop so mind bending bonkers, especially in the current world we live in, that none of it sits right with me.

That said, it's not my money so as long as the club isn't financially exposing itself, should I really care? Probably not.

I don't mind Levy being cautious in that sense, he's had his fingers burnt enough times after all, but we do need to follow everyone's else's lead if there is a player we really want and. crucially, that player actually wants to join us. We don't need any more freeloaders.
