Absolutely spot on. Top reds will still ignore the facts and defend FSG though.
The squad is threadbare and I don’t see FSG providing the funds to build a title challenging squad anytime soon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why not? They never have really anyway. Our squad was much worse when Jurgen took over and we had less money than we have now. Granted we sold deadwood for good money and the Coutinho fee pushed us forward a lot but it was always slow and steady, making do with Klavan etc at times but we did it all and could have fair few more titles with a bit more luck.
Id say competitions in the prem alones much harder now though tbf though City will still walk it.
I read somewhere that we had to go to a finance company to get 65m to pay for Szoboszlai. Similar to the way Barca financed the Coutinho money to us. They will never put there own money in the club. No doubt there will be interst in this klarna loan we have taken too.

Money was always going to be the issue, selling Fabinho and Henderson was sensible considering their age and performances but you can't replace those two with only 50m for the pair.
I don't think Lavia is the answer either, really need a guy in his prime as a defensive midfielder.
Still think Liverpool need 4 players minimum and 5 preferably and the signs are it will be 2 max.
2 high energy defensive midfield types, a RB, a CF and a CB.
A deal could be done for Cancelo for a reasonable price and what a buy he would be, which would allow for using Trent in midfield on occasion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Two players needed for me. Three would be better. Two midfielders(one experienced in case for example Lavia doesn't hit the ground running) and a centre back for the inevitable defensive injury crisis.
Some new 'fans' and rid of the sock accounts would be great also.

Yes, just a shame though that on the back of that success we didn’t capitalise on and have since fallen back out of the CL. I think the summer after the CL win we brought in Adrian, Elliott and Van den Berg.
Now we really do need a rebuild and the clubs dragging its heel again.

Window started well but it seems that we blew our budget on 2 players which was fine as it kept our midfield competitive. Then we decide to take the money and remove our 2 DM's and the solution is a 19 year old who's backup is a 18 year old.
It's down to Klopp again to work miracles. Wish he was more vocal but that's not his style. Instead we are crash coursing Curtis Jones into DM. Curtis who used to be a forward.

So on the back of the CL success we then had league success. On the back of that success we signed Thiago and Jota. We then only finished third and went out in the quarter finals of the CL. So on the back of no success when then signed Konate and Diaz. We won two cups, finished a point behind City in the league and lost the final of the CL. On that back of that success we signed Nunez and Gakpo but had a poor season.
So here we are, having signed players on the back of success, we're in the position of having to sort the midfield out after Saudi signed two of our experienced players and we lost several players who were passed it or injury prone. We've signed two so far and are working on others. I don't really see what else people want.
Having a load of excellent players, attempting to sign more after a poor season, which came after a load of trophies and the best era the club have had for over three decades.
All at a time when up against the best team of the PL era, with an endless pot of money. Could so easily been another couple of league titles, having finished a point behind on two(three perhaps including the Rodgers season?) occasions.
I don't know about you but I'm enjoying the ride, after the three poor decades, with the odd blip. Anybody expecting the club to compete with City can only want a state to own the club, as that's the only way to compete financially. Luckily the club have a different approach which has been a successful one. Of course you can't please everyone, there will always be sock accounts creating articles, which stupid people latch on to, thinking they're genuine because the share their opinion but then that's why said sock accounts do it, they'll always have stupid people to keep them motivated.

It was a good transfer window until we lost our DM and Captain. We're now sending lowball insulting offers for Andre by all accounts and we're refusing to stump the cash up for Lavia.
Our defence is a shambles and we now need a RB/CB.
Look at City: wanted Gvardiol. No silly derisory offers to start with. Bang, they pay what Leipzig wanted and he's in their squad for the new season.

Probably not that familiar, what with winning a load of trophies during their tenure, which incidentally is the best era for the club for over three decad
——
Yes, just a shame though that on the back of that success we didn’t capitalise on and have since fallen back out of the CL. I think the summer after the CL win we brought in Adrian, Elliott and Van den Berg.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep and then we won the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So on the back of the CL success we then had league success.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
People seemed quite happy with the way the transfer window was going until Fabinho and Henderson left, even though we've been working on other deals all through that. It's utterly bizarre how some react on here.

Yeah I think some thrive on the optimism and happiness the club gives them and others thrive on the pessimism and misery. We'll all different

And who said anything about an insulting offer for Andre? I think it's a chess move to get Southampton to budge.

Well let's hope so or we'll be left with Curtis "The Crab" Jones playing DM against Chelsea. Enzo will eat him for breakfast.

If you say so...
One has won the World Cup and is a £100m player. If Jones wasn't a local lad he would have been shipped out to the Championship years ago.

Thankfully he wasn't and has since improved. Find another sport.

If was put up for sale today would PSG, Real, Atletico, City, Bayern or Barca want to sign him?
Nope, I didn't think so, but thanks for playing anyway 👏
