Looking forward to us being on top of the league tomorrow evening with a 6-0 thrashing of Cov. Maybe.

What I don’t get is the excitement when nothing at the top of the club has changed. What’s to be excited about? Surely it’s only a matter of time before the same failings re-appear if they haven’t been fixed in the first place - Maresca or not
In the same fans got obsessed that Rodgers was the cause of all our woes, some are now getting fixated on Maresca being the man to rebuild the entire club. It just doesnt work like that. If the cake tin is dented, every cake you bake - no matter how many times you start over, is going to have a dent in it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But the cake can still look nice and taste amazing even with a dented tin…. 🤔

Ok - it wasn’t the best illustration granted. Let’s say if you keep building a house on a foundation made of quicksand then eventually it’s gonna sink again
As a club we don’t have that solid foundation the likes of Brighton and I’d even say Forest do. Forest in particular are now getting it right upstairs which is influencing their direction on the pitch (look at where they were under Fawaz before Marianakis got hold of them). They’ve learned from their haphazard recruitment strategy of last season (got rid of Chandler) and have aspirations of developing the Brighton approach.
We need to get it right from the top because hiring Maresca alone, no matter how good he is, will never be enough. Do you want to lose a talented but frustrated manager? Or if Enzo is the messiah some are believing him to be, do you want him to build a successful team and guide us back to where we were? He can’t do it on his tod.

I really don't like being in the same camp as 99p. I really don't. I'd much prefer to be 'excited' by the coming season, and looking forward to us smashing the league under Maresco. I just don't think we're heading in that direction. I seriously hope we're both totally wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s not a camp I enjoy either. I reckon people think I want Leicester to fail. Nothing would make me happier than being totally wrong about the direction of a club. If I thought we had learned a SINGLE thing from our relegation experience I’d be delighted. I don’t see we have.
The Athletic reported that Maresca had been approached after Rodgers was sacked. He was always going to come here (if he wanted to). We ended up with Smith because he wanted to finish the season with Man City. We’ve been relegated and still hired him - that shows no thought process for the division and situation we’re in. It just means we carried on regardless. It might work - it might not.
