I don't think so, as the reality is not that many people really care.
The penalties were a laugh, but good to see them go though, seem like a very likeable bunch.

I think they’ll win it although would like to see Japan do it
Why? Beckham got it because England went out to Argentina. Also, Women's football doesn't have the same culture as the men's game does.

The vitriol aimed at the USA women's team makes me think that the morons on twitter and the like are waiting for any excuse, regardless if they are even following the event.
It's just too woke for them.

I think that's more to do what has happened around pay and other political statements made by certain members of the team amongst other things. This England side doesn't have that. There might be some, but I don't to the level of Beckman or what bring thrown at US side
the pay stuff was just another reason for more vitriol... It's everything to do with some of them taking a knee and bad mouthing dear leader.
The england side don't have that political side as much... but anything to do with women, lgbt and black players will bring out the flag shhagers.
Disgraceful play.
Shouldn’t play again at the tournament

‘Woke’ has just become a synonym for ‘equality’, hasn’t it?
You boil down the tantrums of those who wail about ‘woke culture’ on social media, and you unfailingly discover that their specific beefs are with one or another aspect of equality.

Some of the crowd celebration footage isn't real is it?
I'm asking the question here as it was raised by someone and it does look like it's repetitive at best and like false laughter in comedies at worst

I think the anti woke people think the world should look like how they assume it did in the 1950’s. Anything that challenges that halcyon image in their cat sized brains is ‘woke’.
You can't beat Kathy Burke's take on it:

There will always be an element of that. I doubt this will reach the level it did with Beckham (he was sent off against a rival who went on to knock England out, not the same here).
The US team got involved in politics and the pay gap issue exposed that they actually got a larger percentage of earnings. The issue is the women's game doesn't make as much as the men's so the men ended up making more despite having much lower percentage. They had more favourable terms than the men.
Very different circumstances than the English team.

A much larger percentage if memory serves.
No because Beckham was a global icon and Lauren James isn’t.
Does women's football even have any global icons?
Had that been a male player who got stamped on, say Grealish or Neymar they'd still be rolling around on the floor now some 5 hours later. Fair play to the player for not making a deal of it other than to raise an arm in the air to alert the ref to scvmmy behaviour
