Why sell mctominay

In what way is he an ambassador for the club?

If we can get close to £40m for a squad player and replace him with someone who isn't sh-t then surely that makes us better?

The only good thing about him is that he's home grown.

Because he’s shiiiit at football.

If he's an ambassador then he should be spoiling us with Ferrero Rocher.

He’s done well for us at times but if we can get 30m plus for him we should snap their hand and spend it on a better replacement.

Would that make him the most expensive Scottish footballer ever?

Is he really that bad? Ill be honest, I only watch the highlights these days but he seems to do well in a Scotland shirt and i think that makes him a good ambassador for united worldwide

I think so, Tierney had the record with £25m not sure if anyone's beaten that.

Maguire looks good for England though

He's clearly a leader and he loves united.

I’m sure Barry will be pleased if the most expensive Scottish footballer ever is English.

I don't think it's fair to compare him to Maguire but I see your point. 0 tolerance for Maguire

Is that a euphemism?

Mctominay has more use than Maguire does. However at the right price I'd let him go as well.

McTominay is a good honest player that will do well for most teams in the lower half of the PL, but he's not really a United standard of player and doesn't really have a natural role in ETH's system. He's had good games for us and being a United academy player will always be well thought of.

But we need to raise funds now in order to bring in one or two more players to better suit the demands of the manager's plans and McTominay is one of our more high value assets from the fringe/squad players. If we can get a good enough fee (which we should be more than able to) then it can be reinvested on a more suitable player. Ultimately that's why the club seem willing to let him go.

Mctominay has 5 goals in euro qualifying including 2 crucial goals vs Spain.

Kane has scored 3 pens vs the likes of Malta and North Macedonia.

United want £45 million for him. I think he'll go for £40m. With Maguire looking to go for £30-35m, that will bring in much revenue.

From what I've read though, ETH isn't looking to actively sell McTominay. So if he stays, ETH will use him.

@curently & Berba

Fair play. Points well made.

I hope Utd keep him too, would also be happy if WHU got rinsed for him.

Some of us remember those heady "Scottie The King McTominay" username days when he first broke into the side.

Decent squad player, but I'd take £30m for him all day. If we can get more than that then brilliant.
