Baseball is grate

Nothing moore betterer than October play-offs under the lights.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We called it rounders at school.

As someone else mentioned above its like they took the sport of Cricket and thought....how can we make this even more boring? They definitely succeeded.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Baseball is nothing like cricket other than a bat n ball game

The dynamic r toe-tully diffrent

Not gonna argue if u think it boring butt imo is an extremely interesting game witch can provude inctedibubble dramma n excitement
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't compare the rules. I said they found a boring sport and invented an even more boring one.

And Cricket is the national sport of a few massive countries in Asia such as India, Pakistan etc as well as us, South Africa and Australia taking it very seriously.

Baseball is big in one country and that's about it. I heard Japanese like it a little too but that's about your lot isn't it?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Found out it was the national sport in Dominican Republic whilst I was there. Apparently quite a few top players play in the USA.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As well as Panama, Cuba, Venezuala, Japan, Taiwan.
Games take forever.
Robb take in a double header. 2 games in the same day.
Double bore.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
when we had the montreal expos, i used to go to quite a few games. one ill always remember was a 23 inning affair that when it was over all the buses and metro were closed and i had to walk across the bridge to get back home after i spent all my money on beer.

American sports are all equally boring. That's why none of them have taken off in any great capacity worldwide.

It's also why they need t-shirt cannons, cheerleaders and all that other naff stuff they have over there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ice hockey is ok. Baseball is actually more boring than cricket which I didn’t think was possible. Don’t Mind American footy in small doses.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Basketball is the only sport really that has any decent standard of leagues outside of North America as Spain and Greece take basketball very seriously. Not quite to the extent as football obviously but it's definitely very popular.

American football is absolutely awful. It's way too stop start. No idea how anyone could prefer that over Rugby for example.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Much of a much with rugby, at least they can throw it forward.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
but rugby last 80mins whilst the average NFL game lasts nearly 3.5hrs. and they dont need stuff to protect them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The stuff isnt to protect the wearer its to injure the opponent.

I attended a Houston Astros match while on a business trip - only time I've watched live baseball. The game was pretty boring but the overall experience enjoyable. You have a captive audience for a long time, during which you get to sell them food (in my case copious amounts of tacos) and various other cheesy entertainment goes on. But it's a very amicable atmosphere. Families, friends go along as an outing. It's a sport you don't have to keep your eyes on for every second, so I guess it's suited to a social occasion. The Astros got slaughtered the night I went and all the fans filed out of the arena chatting away happily, not seeming to mind. Seems like it isn't the emotional rollercoaster you get with football - unless you're in the World Series I suppose: the long regular season means you can lose a lot of matches without ruining your season.

As for the game, I imagine that if you're really into the nuances and the statistical aspects, there's material for intellectual stimulation. I don't think I'm in danger of falling under its spell.

I much prefer American Football to both codes of Rugby. I like the stop start and the tactics involved.

Yeah. I used to work early 80s in the east end and would leave an hour early to sit in the bleachers $2 and drink beer we brought in with us. Still bored the teats off me though.

You should have a look at Don Cherry's Rock 'Em Sock 'Em hockey fights. Old time hockey fights were real not like fitba puffs and their nattering like old women.

Oh and if you think 3.5-4 hours is an NFL game you've obviously never heard of tailgate parties that start 4-5 hours before k.o. It's a family thing. BBQs, meat smokers, coolers full of beer, maybe a keg or 3. Only 17 games per season, so people make the most of it.

Baseball players must be the fattest pro sportsmen in the world.

What about Darts? Had some great fat darts and snooker players in the 80s.

I’ve been to games at Yankee stadium and Fenway Park. It’s not an exciting sport. However, the beer makes it an OK day out. It’s basically their version of test cricket.

Alright baseball fan here. What do you want to know?

They play 162 games because the sport is so unpredictable and it's not entirely taxing on the body. As a quantitative guy, I like the sheer amount of data being poured into the sport, makes it interesting to me.

Baseball is getting global traction, with MLB's best player being Japanese and the reigning champion having a huge Latin American based players.

I usually have baseball on every night at the house for background noise, but going to the game is fun actually

Which cities are you visiting OP?

Test cricket is probably more boring given each game lasts 2 months

I love baseball. Rarely watch it now due to the time difference and actually needing sleep in my old age, but still try to catch the odd game, particularly in playoff season.

There’s no sport even close to it for stats and analysis geeks. Probably more maths in the game than any other.
