As good a signing as this will be for Liverpool, you worry the price will stop them investing any further this summer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Almost 200m spent which is already a record for us but icing on cake would he another CB.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
a RB, another CM and a CF wouldn't go a miss either...

All that said, it's a small squad but there's a lot of versatility in it to cover those positions if not hampered by big injuries.

This transfer certainly has other teams worried this morning.

£200+ dropped in one summer on your midfield, that’s serious business and a huge upgrade in the middle of the park to last year.

£80m on a Championship defender who turns like an 80 year old and it's everybody else ruining football. Manc logic.

Klopp deserves the backing of the owners, back him with the players he needs and he will win trophies, it’s as simple as that…

We don't need to invest further if this goes through. We're then covered in every position. Mac Allister replaces Henderson in the first eleven, Caicedo replaces Fabinho. Szoboszlai replaces the injured messes of Ox and Keita. A centre back if Matip were to go would make it a perfect window but even without it, the squad is well set to challenge for the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think you absolutely need to but it would be better if you could.

One genuine RB, one genuine CF.

Only 4 senior midfielders, one of whom in Thiago is always injured plus Jones and Bajetic who showed promise last season in spells but would be gambles to rely heavily on.

Only 4 CBs which is fine until one gets injured. I'm assuming Phillips is going to be sold.

Fingers crossed they can find another 50m and Liverpool can make a couple of bargain signings or high potential players.

You think we need a CF and a RB?

Seriously, I know you like a hot take but just stop.

He can also play rb. So that covers rb if needed as well.

Mac caicedo jones/szlob/thiago to me looks a mdfield that can challenge

Assuming the 3 new boys are the first choice midfield.

On paper the balance looks excellent. High energy defensive midfielder, McAllister the brain and Szobozlai the creative spark. Needs to click fast though.

RB you could make a case for, although I disagree. CF is absolutely nuts. We're well stocked in quality, with a mixture of skill sets, experience, youth and potential all across the front line.

Great signing.

Yes it's overpriced but we got Mcallister for £35m so it probably evens it out.

Hope we can get a good CB, and maybe sell a few a few players to compensate.

I hope Lavia does get a decent move though as he has been left out of the squad expecting a move to Liverpool. Can't be easy for a 19 year old in that position.

I think Thiago and Jones will be ahead of Szoboszlai to begin with. He needs to learn the league, the system, the teamwork. The other two already have that.

I just think Salah and Gakpo are better from inside forward positions and Nunez the only natural CF. I'd agree those two plus Jota could play there so further down the list of priorities or not on them at all for some.

What position would be next if Liverpool go again? Another CM?

Centre Back

Inácio or Schuurs should be available at £30-40m

CB for me would be next. Although difficult to improve on Gomez and Matip for a player who would be back up.

It's been five years now since Klopp changed his mind on that after the likes of United Inflated the market overpaying on crap players with very little to show for it and you're still dining on it? Desperate even for you.

“That’s the problem these days, you say something and whatever bullhit you say, nobody will forget it!

“I could not imagine that the world would change like that – two and a half years ago, £100 million was crazy money, since then the world obviously changed since then.

“In this moment we signed the world’s most expensive goalkeeper; there will be a few, nice transfers in this window still. It will happen a lot.

“My responsibility is for this club to be as successful as possible. It is not for me to push through my thoughts about that and say ‘no, I don’t want to pay big money’ (because) in the end if Liverpool FC is not successful it doesn’t work.

“We have a really good team, a really good squad, to improve a squad like this is expensive, because to find better players than we already have; they are not waiting around the corner.

“When we are convinced about it (signing a player), then our ownership believes that much in the project that they say ‘ok, let’s do it.’ And I really think it is a really good year for us; very good squad.

“We don’t care about what the world around is thinking. Like Man United didn’t care what I had to say about it (Pogba).

“It’s only an opinion in that moment. Did I change my opinion? Yes. That’s true. It’s better to change an opinion than to never have one.”
