Still, Brighton made a declaration and IMO it would look bad if they reneged on it. Remains to be seen if what Chelsea are offering is enough for them to risk their standing.

Tbh, I've read in the past that he fancies playing in London, but that it wouldn't be a factor.

If the player wants Chelsea then that’s that. We can’t afford to pay top dollar for a player that doesn’t want to be here.

If he is having second thoughts, Liverpool should pull out of the deal. Don't want a player unless he wants to sign for us.

Didn't he want to go to Arsenal last season? Maybe he wants to live in London.

I don't think all fans are like United fans.

Personally I've always said I'd prefer to spend double what Lavia would cost on Caicedo who was the player I wanted Liverpool to sign most before the window even opened.

That won't change if Chelsea sign him and Liverpool go back for Lavia. Obviously I would then hope I was wrong in regards to which is the best value.

Going to be quite difficult in either case I'd imagine!

As good as he would be, if Caicedo wants to play for Chelsea then so be it. Perhaps there's a bond with Poch? Both South Americans, maybe he wants to play for him for the 9 months before he gets fired

Can you show me this declaration? I have seen reports but heard nothing directly from Brighton myself.

Beacause they now see a team who were haggling to pay 50m are prepared to pay 110m for another player. If that was my business id certainly be chancing my arm and driving the price up further.

Southampton will likely have agreed with Lavia that they will sell him if a £50m offer comes in

This deal stinks and should be investigated by the FA?

Curious to know how much money Caicedo received from Boehly to sign for them only.

Right so West Ham bid £100m for Gvardiol, he goes to City. United want £70m for Maguire.

Liverpool were prepared to pay a record fee for Caicedo. They weren't prepared to pay £50m for Lavia. They valie the players differently. Increasing it would be stupid.

Different scenarios. Utd want maguire gone. Southampton dont appear in any rush to get rid they just want the best price possible.

If they now see us as the only viable option and see we are now even more desperate than and that we appeat to have a barrel load of cash again I know what id be doing. Maybe im stupid though
