He also said Kane was happy to stay if levy didn’t sell him.

Maybe helping the club get a better fee

I don't think we'll replace him this window. Son and Richy will be the strikers. Could be wrong, but can't see who we'd be able to bring in now.

Not sure why people are saying we dragged it out.

Munich offered £70m

some weeks later they offered £86m

Now, literally on wednesday they offered what sounds like £100m inc. add-ons.

Anyone who negotiates at any reasonable level will know how this works, and particularly for a club who are not willing sellers. It's a balance between getting as much as you can while also not ruining the prospect of getting a deal done.

Anyone who thinks we should have wrapped this up weeks ago will have been looking at £30m less than we have now, and many of these same people are damming of Spurs not paying asking prices, Spurs having high ticket prices, and in the same breath Spurs not spending more money.

I do negotiate for a living and any process is not as simple as party A saying we want X amount and party B just accepting that. In the artificial environment of a transfer window, greater power to negotiate is given to both sides and timing is a big factor. So unless 2 parties are very willing and very reasonable (Like Spurs & Leicester for Maddison & Winks) then it will always been a drawn out thing.

I hope our fans get behind Ange and the team in the few weeks of the season.

Last thing we need is a toxic atmosphere

This is a bit of a worry. Was really hoping we'd get some sort of news to slightly soften the blow - signing Tapsoba or something similar, to help keep the fans on side. I hope those at the game on Sunday are 100% behind the team.

I think Levy knew what he was doing. The fact is that this whole thing benefits him, end of.

He dragged it out so he could squeeze the last penny andused Kane as the perfect Xmas toy that Germans badly wanted.

Levy made this work so he could benefit fully. Nothing to do with the team. He took the flight to Miami to see his partner in crime Lewis, and with suitcases packed with Euros

We won't be investing in the team anyway.

Remember that £50m from the loan £150m? where is it?

yeah but it's not quite so nuanced at a game generally. If the fans are more focussed on directing their ire at Levy, that could across as negativity in general, and say we then go 1-0 down.....I feel like the atmosphere could get very negative very quick. Hopefully I'm wrong though, and even if it does happen - hopefully the players and manager shrug it off.

We lose the game and don't get a new CB and/or other reinforcements, God forbid and you can bet that is the end of any hopes the club of rebuilding the side

The atmosphere will become even more toxic than when it was with Nuno in charge

No point venting anger towards Ange & the team. The fault lays with Levy... The decline has been systemic caused by a lack of direction, poor decision making, bad appointments & poor recruitment. Thats why the squad didn't evolve, its why the team didn't challenge and that's why Kane left....... Its starts and finishes with the weasel at the top.

Kane has done nothing wrong... he's acted like the consummate pro. He said he was willing to go to Bayern and not PSG and helped get us 100mln quid Vs Nothing

That is such a bitter slant.

At the end of the day this doesnt really benefit Levy...do you think Spurs are worth more with or without Kane. The money will be spent but we no longer have the England captain, one of the best strikers in the world and all the status and kudos that that brings, all the exposure, positive PR.

Levy aint pocketing profits here. They never have, the money gets spent.

What we have done is get the best possible price and that's taken time to get Munich up to 100m

It’s mental that spurs are so sh 111t under levy that a spurs man through and through felt he had to leave to the bundesliga for a chance to win something. Like he literally couldn’t wait another year .

F a ck you levy you total parasite

Maybe Kane should have shown up for the semi-finals and finals instead of performing shiiiiite

What would be ironic would be winning our first trophy in ages this season.

Mind you, no more ironic than our previous success coming under the worst manager we have had in the last 20 years

What I don’t get is if Ange “knew from day 1” that Kane was leaving why did he play him during the warm up games, particularly last Sunday? To give him a swansong so he could say goodbye to the fans at NWHL?
If he knew he was on his way then Richie should have started and led the line. Pre season friendliest are about preparing for the forthcoming season

All about brand Kane mate. Knew he was leaving but still took the captaincy. Strung everyone along.

posted on 11/8/23

I think it would be negligent to not play him though, in case the transfer fell through. Also bad for negotiations if we're seen to not even want him around. 4 goals against Shaktar or whatever it was reminds everyone we shouldn't be selling him cheap at all

Yeh had plenty of chances. Spurs got to a CL final without him, then he failed to turn up in the final.
