Ask yourself this. You’re an office admin guy. You get a new job. You’re told if the company makes a profit, which it does every year, you’ll get a huge bonus. But if it makes a loss you won’t get the bonus and your salary will be halved.
The job doesn’t go great. Your boss leaves, the customers are on your case saying your companiy’s crap and you’re sh*t at your job.
What would you do when the end of year accounts don’t look good?
We can hark back to Paul Madeley not even looking at his contract and trusting Revie. But the these days footballers are commodities to clubs. There’s no loyalty either way. We look at these things from the perspective of fans, we get emotional that players don’t feel like we do… but why would they?
When Kinnear talked about plans in place for relegation this was it folks. On the balance sheet it looks great to get high earners off the books. But on the pitch?
It’s not the players at fault. This was the clubs strategy.
Agree with your points. However cant abide with players who refuse to play like Gnonto

Especially when they don’t have a clause in their contract allowing them to leave.
As for the 49’s. I’ll reserve judgment until the end of the window.
Maybe they ballsed up with the contracts but at the end of the day these players and agents knew what they wanted if we got relegated. Apart from the odd one or two, the rest literally gave up over the last month. They knew they were covered and could just sod off, didn’t they?
Now we have the situation where Harrison is the last of the loans we can do I think. So what happens to Firpo, Costa and any others who Farke doesn’t want? Do we just cancel their contracts and give them away?
If the 49’s knew about these contracts before they were signed then they have to own up and put it right. In a years time we might be still in this league or in L1. What happens to these loanees then?
Madness!
Your correct that the blame stops at the execs for allowing us to get anywhere near this point, with bad strategy and sub standard recruitment.
Having said all that, the lack of spine and the complete cave in from half time against Palace was really poor - can't absolve that.
Also ask yourself this, as I stated yesterday - Are you prepared to see any of the ship jumpers back in a Leeds shirt ?( Harrison excluded).

We can't just cancel a contract, it hs to be done with mutual consent.
Lets say Costa on 20k. that's 1 mill he loses if contract cancelled.
If he can't find anything like that elsewhere he's completely within rights to wait.
If 49ers had really been screwed over, they'd be suing AR by now.
They weren't, they had visibility and indeed control over what was going on. Paraag hid behind being on bus and writing notes.
The fact that they dont blame AR speaks volumes about the fact that they were party to what is going on.
Judge people by their actions, then you won't be deceived by their words.
Interesting article.
I am not saying who is to blame for it but there appears a toxic atmosphere atmosphere at the club. Not sure who would want to sign in those ircumstances.
What angers me the most is that through thick and thin, especially through the dark 16 years away from the PL, the core fans of LUFC, such as yourself and most on here, have stuck with our beloved club. The reward for this, apart from fluking Bielsa through the door, is continual incompetent or cynical running of the club - just gone beyond a joke.
The old adage 'Trust is so difficult to attain but so easy to destroy' comes to mind.
How is Kinnear still in a job?!
I believe there is 1 international loan and 1 domestic loan still allowed Stoopo.
My bet is Sinisterra leaves on loan and we will be stuck with Firpo!

There is an elephant in the room, thats nobody talking about
What happens if someone has a loan release clause but cant leave because we’ve used up the quota
Maybe play the elephant in goal?

We would probably sign the elephant on a 3 year contract with a release clause if relegated to League 1
So being totally removed from Leeds since our unnecessary and avoidable relegation, I’ve had a look at players that have left.
Wtf did we sell Rodrigo? He was one of the few last season that made a difference. We bought him for 27 million, yet sold him for circa 3.5 million. That in itself says a lot. The one blessing I see is that we sold Tyler Roberts.
Why bamford is still at the club is beyond me. We will be mid table at best unless we can get a manager in with vision and instills passion in the players. We have been on serious decline since we sacked MB. If we don’t, we will be mid table at best, more likely near the bottom. Im concerned about our position, but after the relegation last season, it doesn’t have the same impact on life as it used to.

My take is the employment contract takes precedent and we have to take whatever punishment comes our way. Or you have a JKA situation.
In a well run contract department with decent lawyers you would either restrict the number of contracts you put loan release clauses into.. or add a clause that excludes loan release if it's in breach of regulations.

Excatly.
Love being a Leeds fan - you get to learn all sorts on a weekly basis - contracts, legalities, employment law, including stadiums as part of acquisitions, financial assets and liabilities.
My work area is mainly cyber security - only a matter of time before that is the next big thing at Leeds somehow
A few paragraphs to let us know Harrison has left the club on the Leeds website. Would be nice to let us know what the heck is going on
Out of all the wingers, Harrison the one who is proven at this level, delivered for us year in year out, never caused any problems.
6 months ago he was going for 20+ mill now we effectively give him away for free.
