Sack the medical staff who said he could continue for the second half
Gutted for the lad as looked really promising. Cant see him playing again this season
Bad news indeed. I don't understand why he didn't go off straight away when he had the first knock. When you've had a knock it's possible the body can over compensate and we've seen things like this in the past and this wasnt the sort of injury where he got up after 30 seconds it was a good few minutes. We were in a game where we had total control, not playing one of the bigger teams really does feel avoidable. Arteta firstly should of got better advice and secondly Arteta shouldn't hide behind the medical staff either he should of weighed up all the variables and made the right decision after all that's what he's paid for.
In other news is anybody worried about a midfield of Fernandez, Caicedo and Lavia?
Nor at all. Fernandez and Lavia are average players and Chelsea will ruin them no doubt.
Given the statement by the club this evening, I doubt it is a ruptured ACL as he would have gone under the knife immediately.
We live in hope.
Either way he’s out for some time. Back to square one in defensive depth

Won't be surprised if we see a message from the club saying "Timber has had a successful surgery"
