Hardly a good window, Maddison and Van de Ven are the only two that improve our first team from last year whilst losing a heavyweight in Kane. Kulusevski and Porro do not count for me. Udogie was already bought and returning from loan. The rest are either not an improvement, squad players or future potential.
We really need another proven ST, which is unlikely with the market and Levy's will to spend that sort of money. So it's looking like a punt at Gift Orban.
We also desparately need another CB. A quality one but i reckon we will end up agreeing something with Barcelona on Lenglet. It could all work out with these relatively untested players, you never know but that would be more of a surprise than an expectation.
I'd give our window something like a 6/10.

Agree with your rating. Kane is an obvious minus but another is the lack of other outgoings.
With two weeks to go until the end of the window we have sold two players, one was a club legend. Meanwhile the usual suspects are still lingering about and proving hard to sell. It's killing us.
So the good window is selling Kane, buying a keeper you aren't sure of (for very good reason), two players who weren't even signed this window, a CB who looked dodgy on debut, Maddison and still being two starters short?
Excellent article, Big Bananas. Spurs are building a fine team now. Going way under the radar. Media are to busy going on about Chelsea spunking a billion on players nobody has heard off or a very average Man United side to notice how good Spurs will become this season.

I think we will do more business but if we don’t, it’s another window we’re left short.
Need another good CB. We seem to be scared at this club of having too many good players - we buy squad players instead of players challenging those in the first 11 and then we are a massive drop offf when we get an injury. Why not have 3 really good CBs?
RB is a worry.
Front three needs solving. Solomon could be part of that. Richy was such a bad idea from the start, Son’s past it and Kulu has been massively found out. Maybe Ange can get them working without having to change personnel - I’d rather see som e young, hungry, pacey forwards that will scare teams.
Vicario might be ok.
I’d say the midfield is a massive positive area that’s improved with Maddison. Looks sorted. But maybe this is just the change in system and move away from Conteball. Frustrating that we solve one area of the pitch and then another part regresses.
Only Winks left the club too.
I’m really happy with Ange and what he’s trying to do but I don’t agree this has been a good window - so far anyway.

Why is RB a big worry? Emerson is an excellent right back. Defence slowly looking good with Van and Udogie both upgrades on last season.

We’ll clearly you didn’t watch the game. VDV was anything but dodgy. He looked extremely comfortable and the OG was really unlucky. There are clearly issues we need to address like a striker, but our debutants were all excellent including Udoggie. The only question mark was the keeper
I reckon any other signings will depend on what we can raise from sales, the Kane money has already been spent and that other £50m raised through a share issue has disappeared down Levy`s big black hole of penny pinching.
The GK situation is vintage Levy, Vicario is unproven at PL level and Forster is not good enough, so it`s left a question mark.

A CB who looked dodgy on his debut!?
Did you actually watch the match? I have heard it from a few, mainly oppo fans and Tim Sherwood and I think they are basing this on his own goal which was very unfortunate.
VDV looked class in that match, very assured on the ball, winning tackles and is very pacy. Considering the high line we now play and the pace of Brentford’s attackers no one got in behind him.
Not that I go by it too much but if you do check his stats in that match and I’m sure he won majority of his duals and didn’t lose the ball.
VDV was a major positive for Spurs and can’t believe this lazy criticism of him.
havent got rid of nearly enough players and still need a quality CB and winger/forward
Maddison and potential of VdV make it a generous 6 or 7 out of 10

settling for less as a goalkeeper and selling out best player with no succession plan stings

Already replied to him mate. He clearly didn’t watch the game and you are right, lazy Arsenal biased criticism. VDV looked excellent. Him and Romero will be a good partnership. We need another CB though.
Was out of position a fair bit, caught out by a few simple balls.
Hey, if you are happy - fair play. But I am certainly looking forward to seeing him and Vicario at the Emirates next month.
picked this up from another website - seemed relevant to this conversation
Micky van de Ven had the highest duel success rate of any player to contest 5+ duels in the Premier League at the weekend (90%).
◉ 9/10 duels won
└◎ 4/5 aerial duels won
└◎ 2/2 take-ons completed
└◎ 2/2 tackles made
And he didn't commit a single foul. 🧼

Wasn’t out of position at all. We play a high line and he has the pace to recover. He’s also barely even trained with his teammates so overall it was a very good performance
If you only watched the highlights and judged him on the 2nd goal maybe I could see why you have that opinion
he wasnt perfect but very good debut considering had only 2 training sessions before and had 2 CB partners during the game
his attributes are great and its easy to be over hyped with the alternate dross that could play instead
Decent but like so many windows lately has not gone far enough and I think by Christmas we will find we are still wanting, still a couple of weeks to go but appears to have all gone quiet, getting rid of deadwood is a issue still and need a CB, forward/winger as a absolute minimum also I'd like a more experienced goalkeeper
Happy with Madders, Bissouma feels like a new signing. GLC might just surprise a few people and make new career at Spurs. Jury is out on the rest. Wanna see a good performance against a decent side on Saturday. Still think we need a CF, Winger and another CB. Not sure where the money is gonna come from. Don't trust levy to get rid of the deadwood.. we'll see... too early to say !

Clueless
20 minutes in and Van den Ven already caught out 3 times, missed a simple pass from Romero and even got bullied by Antony and lost possession on halfway...
burghandy is right, he does look clueless
Clean sheet against Man Utd on 2nd game
Off you pop
Yeah, United missed some absolute sitters. Bruno free header 6 yards out after strolling past a sleeping Van den Ven the worst.
Another top performance
Another clean sheet
