Chelsea seem to have a clear plan for the future.

Solid investment in the squad rather than saddling the club with £1.3bill debt to build a White Elephant stadium for Kylie concerts, while the football team languish mid table. Spurs

I agree the club does now seem to have a coherent plan.

The poor decision making in the first 12 months clouded the whole process imo.

Loosing C/L was definitely not part of the new ownerships plan, it has come at and increased the level of risk for the new ownership.

But they are now beginning to settle and push the club in the right direction.

Well as to a solid investment? time will tell.

Getting back into the C/L will i assume be considered a success and a solid investment.

Meeting FFP seems to be the most significant unknown , but bringing in this 150m will go a long way to addressing the requirement.

Unfortunately the new owners have saddled the club with about 1 billion pound worth of debt.

Imo the good news is that the new owners are backing the club and there investment, on the pitch opposed to what ever THsp tend to do

This has been the new ownership's best window without a doubt. Still don't like the fact we seem happy with being mugged off when buying players, it's still got an air of being unrefined & unprofessional (the Adams medical nonsense), but I do see evidence of a plan at last. One which extends beyond doing what I do on Football Manager which is hoover up any young talent generating a buzz

Got good money for players we either wanted to sell, who wanted to leave or who's departure was out of our hands. Got a great manager in who even if it doesn't work out no-one can say it wasn't a good move - one of the two best candidates imo. Squads a bit young for my taste but reasonably balanced.

They've got a ways to go to erase the memory of the absolute clusterf*ck mess they created last year, but in isolation I've not got much to complain about this summer.

How many times do you need to be told the meaning of a White Elephant stadium ?

Our ground gets 60,000 fans in for football and is used for NFL games and concerts.

A White Elephant stadium is a term for a stadium that is used maybe once and then no other events are held there.

I know you’re a bit dense but try and figure it out

Mind you you do think the governing body of European Football is called EUFA

yeah , that is where i am at tbh.

They are backing the club, we will be fit for purpose this season.

Tbh, i think in this market a 600m investment in a totally new squad is value, if they get back into C/L it will be an incredible achievement.

Id give Poch manager of the year for that.

White Elephant being used as generic term , i would suggest

Hounslow, does your stadium equate to the 12th man ? with its effect on your game play?

or is it financial tool for Arthur & Del-boy?

Yeah. Either top 4 or top 6 with a cup run = great first season for him

posted on 17/8/23

Poch will do well at your place and unlike Conte he will give young academy players a chance.

Yes, Poch is a perfect fit, but he will have an immense amount of pressure to deal with.

The clubs future stability rest's on Poch;s ability to blend this squad into a cohesive unit that can regain C/L this season.

The club have backed him, but they have also backed him into a corner with the spend & FFP, & the pressure this brings.

Poch will be gone by the New Year. Chelsea are spending on absolute duds.

£115 million on Enzo, zero goals so far.

Best position this season probably 8th.

Pretty sure you've made most of the OP up.

I mean;

Chalobah> valued 30m +

Gallagher > valued 40m+

Hall > valued 30m

You might value them at that, I'd be amazed if you actually got it.

posted on 17/8/23

Why are you selling Hall? Thought he was highly rated and he has looked good. Is it cos he's white?

posted on 17/8/23

And Enzo is quality, Sandy talking out of his ass as usual. Complete know nothing.

We turned down 45mil for Gallagher in January. Newcastle's proposal is reported to be 30mil (which is a slight undersell imo). Chalobah will draw 30mil easy.

Love how you've pick out the one player, literally the one player this ownership have bought that 99% of all football fans are in agreement is very much not a dud

The stadium was built to help keep the noise in unlike some other new stadium’s

The atmosphere is good and hopefully with Ange getting us playing on the front foot again unlike the turgid football Jose and Conte had us playing the vibe will be better.

The income the stadium generates is massive

Maybe Wolves could get The Worzels to play a few gigs
And it may generate some revenue for them.

Show you what? Everton bid 45mil for Gallagher in January & West Ham bid 40mil for him this summer - both were rejected. Look it up if you want.

Same with Hall. The fee being mentioned is 30mil from Newcastle, whether they formerly bid or we accept it if they do is unknown right now.

Chalobah I'd say is worth 30mil because he's decent, English & on a long contract.

I will be sad to see Hall and Chalobah leave but if they are not going to play, we should cash in and get money into the club. Along with CHO and Gallagher, it would represent pure profit. With Gallagher, I'd only sell at 50m as he is good cover although not good enough to start every game. More realistically, we'll get 25-30 for Hall, 20-25 for Chalobah and probably about 5 for CHO. Ziyech will be offloaded for less than 20m and we'll be very Lucky to get 35m for Lukaku unless he becomes desperate enough to accept Saudi. The other problem with Lukaku is that he would represent a loss on the books.

You've spent more than the whole of La Liga since Boehly took over.

When are you guys gonna accept that you are cheats?

posted on 17/8/23

Is it cheating though?
Not complying with FFP is cheating.
Spending loads of money is not the same thing.
Wish my club would do the same.
