there's a Wolves ITK twitter account with 50 followers saying it's happening

which is funny

until you go through his timeline and every thing he's posted has happened

also Stephen McGowan has re-tweeted stuff and there's been a local journo report so I'd say we're in the mix but can't see it happening

a lot of money for a 28 yr old. Wolves were reportedly looking for 20m for him but got no takers. Reports suggest that Celtic could get him for 12m?

Always thought he wasnt right for the EPL, not good enough for the big teams that would get the best out of him and the wrong type of player for teams that are gonna struggle
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Two things

28 is where a player is at his peak so as a value it is fine - unless you are talking about no sell on value that fits the usual Celtic model?

I don't see us paying £12M. He has 1 year left on his contract. I suspect Wolves will take something. I'd expect we would reach to £6-7M and if someone outbid us then our board would say "we tried"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
prob im only going on reports that Wolves wanted 20m and celtic think they can get him for 12m. and that would seem high for a player at his age who would lose value I think.

If 12m is the price I agree thats too much, I do think he would do very well up here however.

We need a goalkeeper if we are going to insist on allowing our midfield and cbs to just shirk responsibility and play it backwards to him all the time.

Gk then expected to play the forward pass the defenders couldn't manage.

Absurd

I can see all the same things we seen with Mcgregor.

Hart will cost you points IMO. he has never been great with the ball at his feet I think Rodgers will demand more of him in that department and use him that way more it would seem. he looks like an error in waiting now.

Seen you linked with Podence? unlikely I would assume due to the price quoted and his age. But that guy would prob run riot up here. Is this nonsense or anything in it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is saw, not seen, mate.

Ange demanded Hart play the ball with his feet too. The difference is the back line is too close to him hence so too the attackers.

The Wolves guy is just a mix up. The scouting team misheard Lawwell demand PRUDENCE!

I'm not blinkered and saying Hart is perfect - he is far from it but I do not think any mistakes he makes will be the difference in the league this year. As a priority I'd expect us to be lining up a new number 1 for next summer
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lurch returns again, mate. Guaranteed.

We all know hart is a problem at the moment don't we.

All of us.

Wait?

Someone thinks we should take that problem and pile more pressure on him by expecting him to be a composed sweeper keeper?

Who would do such a thing?

If I wrote "I seen" it would be incorrect. As I havent stated the subject matter seeing the report it can be used this way ... ha !!

Ange discouraged his back line going back to Hart, you could literally hear him go off his nut when they used him too often. Rodgers likes to control the ball via his defence and uses the GK a lot as part of this.

I think Harts problems with the ball at his feet will be poorer as he gets older, and also added to with Rodgers style of play.

Just my opinion.

Where are any reports saying Wolves were looking for £20 million for Podence?

I actually agree with that, the issue is Rodgers tried to sort it first time out by replaced an experienced goalkeeper Gordon with a 'ball playing' sweeper keepr like DDV and we all know how that turned out

seen it last night ... saying that Wolves are looking to get what they paid for him Celtic think they can negotiate down to 12m.

It was one of the highlights of Rodgers first stint when he hooked DDV at HT. Was never convinced he was his signing anyway?

Its a great tactic in scotland, trying to draw the team in to make space

Except that teams coming for cp arent going to leave their own half and are delighted as we f.... about with it at the back

One of my Dons mates text an hour ago saying we’re linked with Kelle Roos. Bizarrely, I was out for a walk on Sat and passed a house with a big bloke standing in the doorway spinning a basketball, chatting to a couple outside … big “For Sale” sign outside … 5 mins later it dawned on me it was Roos. Who needs Jim White?!

£12M less than half what we got for Jota and guaranteed CL monies it’s not beyond the realms of possibility we could be in for him.

We paid for Jota loan, his wages, his transfer, signing on then Benfica got a large wedge of the Saudi money. Not sure it is as clear cut as you make out? Nevertheless, the kind of player we should be seeking out and not over-valued EPL based.

Seigrist was better at United than Roos Haa been at Aberdeen.

Baffling how he's been so bad for us.

In any case, think Wolves just desperately need players off their books for FFP purposes. He’s now in the last year of his contract, so could possibly deal at a lower amount.

Wolves value Podence at 12m

Celtic think they can get it down to 7-8m

That's all I've ever seen it reported like

With two weeks to go in the window, Wolves currently value Daniel Podence - not in the squad last night and left out of the pre-season stint in Portugal - at £12m. Celtic among the clubs following the situation #wwfc

might have been 20m euro then ?

Podence would be a great signing for us. Watched him a lot over the last 2 seasons and he's a great wee player. Unfortunately I don't think we'll get him as I'm sure if his price is around £8m there will be other Premiership clubs in for him.

and those EPL teams could possibly offer far more wages... seems he is on around 60k a week which will be higher than your budget and a number other EPL teams can manage very easily.

That’s possible-although still haven’t seen anything that says that’s what they’re looking for, or were looking for.

Doesn’t matter.
