Right now Spurs are not an attractive proposition for top players

Conte said that because he knows he’s not around at clubs long enough to train up potential stars.
He needs ready to go players.
What we need to be doing is both. A few quality players supplemented by up and coming hungry players

Yep, it all boils down to Levy running Spurs as a business first and a football club second.
Levy`s lack of foresight and strategy in the transfer market is what holds the football operation back, Ange will be left short like all his predecessors were.
How much money has Levy wasted on cheaper punts in the hope they kick on and increase in value, but who ultimately have failed because they were not good enough or the manager did not want them.
Rodon £15m
Spence £20m
Gil £25m
Royal £25m
Doherty £15m
Clarke £10m
Bergwjin £30m
Foyth £10m
Janssen £20m
Nkoudou £10m
Njie £13m
Etc, etc
We could have passed on this lot and signed 4 x £50m players of top quality.
Levy out.

What is frustrating now is that the midfield looks good but the forwards look weak - a total reversal of last season. We never get the full jigsaw, just some parts performing well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely this...
Been saying it for years...we never get it quite right.
Most, if not all of the current lot of £70 million players being purchased are absolute cack.
Spurs are just fine at picking up decent players st affordably prices.
Spurs three most expensive players have arguably been their worst buys. Certainly Ndomele was a complete waste of money. Sanchez is s back up player. Hopefully Richarlison starts scoring sooner rather than later.

Exactly..bear in mind we only signed Bissouma because we made champions league. We only kept Kane because of champs league and Europe. Now we have none
if we try to beat the rich clubs at their own game by outspending them, we will lose.

Ange just needs to find the right blend of forwards
Natural wingers will give Richarlison space. But we need Maddison and another midfielder to support Richy. The answer isn't Skipp

That's not necessarily about going cheap, it's about bad planning and recruitment. We've had our hands burnt by our expensive signings also:
Moussa Sissoko- £35M
Davinson Sanchez- £42M
Pedro Porro- £45M
Richarlison- £58M
Tanguy Ndombele- £62M
Just improve on our recruitment and we'll have better results, whatever the value is. If we're looking into data analysis like Brighton and Brentford are then that's at least trying to improve it.
I'm not obsessed about spending massive amounts on players, History has shown us we aren't very good at it. I just want Spurs to properly scout players who the manager actually wants, fit his system and have the right characteristics to fit to be effective playing in The PL. At the end of the day we need to buy players who either improve the starting 11 or squad players than can come off the bench and make a difference .
We have wasted a fortune in the past few years on bad characters, club signings, poor quality cheap options and multiple players for the same positions. This is why some of us get so frustrated now when we miss out on players we need because levy haggles over small amounts (Raya being a good example)
It's crucial we get Levy out of the recruitment process, he does more harm than good
Levy needs to tell a sporting director/ manager how much is available for new players each window and walk away... If it means spending the whole budget on 1 or 2 players than we really need... so be it
I'm tired of him getting involved / negotiating & spending time we don't have for the sake of driving down prices... it does us no favors.
I honestly think his behavior when it comes to selling players hurts our chances of getting players we actually need

Funny thing is under an attacking manager like Ange
Gil
Bergwijn

Nkoudou
Aand even Foyth
might have had far better Spurs careers

To be fair Spurs are not the only club that waste money. They all do. Every club buys players that turn out rubbish. So I never get why our supporters think just Spurs biy badly.
I didn't say we are the only ones, but I'm just not willing to keep making excuses for him when the on field success under his tenure has been so poor.
Levy is king of doing things wrong over and over again and then wondering why the results don't change.
He needs to remove from himself from the football side of things and do his job properly and hire the right people (not Italian crooks) who can build the football club properly.
Look at Brighton..... Tony Bloom owns the club, has a clear model and has an excellent CEO in Paul Barber who Know's what he's doing. It's not rocket science.
It's about having competent management and a clear vision.
Brighton know exactly who they are and don't suffer from the same delusions of grandeur and ridiculous ego that Levy brings to Spurs.
It has nothing to do with spending hundreds of millions of pounds.... It's about knowing what you are doing... Levy does not.
Conte was a duplicitous charlatan. We're lucky to have a real manager this season rather than that one trick pony
Hey look I was no Conte fan at all but we need to be more ambitious with our recruitment if we are ever going to step up to another level. I have the upmoat respect for Brighton and Brentford and the way the operate but are they likely to break top 4.
I think we have a philosophy now and a way of playing, we need to recruit more ambitiously to get the best players to fit those roles whilst also keeping half an eye on the future and smart recruitment.
We've just received 100mil+ for Kane, go and make a statement signing, someone who other teams look at and think we are still ambitious. Please not Lukaku!!
Disgusts me that Levy didn't out bid United for Antony Sancho and Mount.
Instead we're left with cheap young talent like Sarr and Udogie
We don't need to make statement signings. Honestly, let's just get the best players in for the potions we need to fill, let Ange develop the team.
Poch didn't get WC 70m plus players he took a talented young group and grew & developed them.
People arev obssessed with spending stupid money 2 DMs have sold for 100m this summer.
We have gone for a manager who develops teams and got rid of 2 who build teams (at vast expense)
