I would be happy adding a LB, CM, ST, and a 10. Think that would do us fairly comfortably. We've been going round the houses a bit with this, though, and feel I have iterated my thoughts fairly relentlessly so far.

Kamara and O'Brien would be good and attainable gets. I'd be looking at Chair at QPR or Chaplin at Ipswich if I was Leeds, but Paintsil would be one heck of an acquisition (although feels like signing wingers that can play striker has been our mantra the last four years).

Guess LB is waiting to see what budget is left after the other signings happen? Phil seems to suggest we should keep an eye on Taylor.

If it is Charlie we get at LB, I’d be good with that.

Expectations, if the Ken Bates feeling continues, are we'll sign nobody else & end up relegated.

The club will try & explain the lack of a striker signing by announcing the near-fitness of Plasticine Patrick, & expect us all to be happy with that.

I feel the current story about Piroe is another Bates move, we're purely going through the motions but aren't actually serious. After the window so far, why would we suddenly land a signing such as that? I don't believe it.

And still people would have Charlie Taylor-Gnonto. The mind boggles.

To add to Lubos list id say wed need another cm to provide possible cover. Unless Farke thinks Bate and Gyabi can cover but we haven't seen that thus far. Be nice to see them play v Salford to see what they can do.

Another centre-half certainly wouldn't go amiss.

I'd be happy with Ampadu, new CM, Gray, and Shackleton. 4 should be enough, really. Gyabi probably fine for the minimum amount of game time a fifth choice CM is going to get.

Id be surprised if we are actually interested in the names we have been heavily linked with. Kamara seems too steep at 5m. I know its not much but cant get in to the Rangers team and he's worth 5m - doesn't seem right.

Haven't we been talking about Kamara for a month now?

It's 5m, it really should be no issue whatsoever for newly relegated club with parachute payments, wealthy owners and 30m wages saved etc.

Some people will follow these things more than i do but how many players have signed for Championship clubs that you have thought we should have signed him ?
I mentioned it a while ago and got shot down but the transfer window doesnt hot up until the teams in the top leagues have finalised their squads then players become available and it starts a domino effect down the leagues.
Take the lad from Villa looks like hes going to sheffield Utd but the deal is only getting done now,
And as i said the other day its not quite straightforward with us as there are still one or two outstanding things to sort which complicates things,

dont thin you were shot down, do appreciate the dependencies, but there will be players available who are suitable for us, expectations have been set by comments 49ers have volunteered in completely controlled environment (podcast) where all questions and answers will have been pre prepared.

They have set the expectations, only natural to have unrest when those expectations not being met and 49ers stop talking.

It remains a source of bemusement to me that Jonty feels the need to start new threads talking about his thoughts on things he could just say in the comments of previous threads.
