It’s amazing the disrespect to the FILM that actually made Disneys name!
So cos the film was made in 1937, so what?!
Sure, there maybe some aspects that don’t hold up today, but isn’t offensive.
It’s a fairytale story, have some respect to the people that put their heart and soul into the project.
They just wanted to tell a story.
And it's actually honestly one of the better Disney animated films. It's a shame they seem to have made so many changes.
Also a shame they gave the lead to someone who seems to actively dislike the original so much
Loved the ‘hi ho’ song as a kid even tho that the only words I knew

What's happened for some mildly disparaging remarks made by a 21-year-old almost a year ago about a film that's nearly a century old to suddenly get whipped into an online controversy?

She has consistently of late put her foot in her mouth on variety of topics.
If she had said it’s a re-imagining of Snow White to bring her story into todays world, well ok, just say that.
It just felt a little more than disparaging.
Snow White is a classic whose story still resonates today.
Her version may turn out great, we don’t know, but don’t spit on the graves who came before you.
All she said about original is that as a kid it scared her

Sure, there is scary elements going on in the film.
She said more than that, in a manner that came across a bit disrespectful.
And it’s not just her, it’s Gadot as well.
And how the hell they gonna do the Mirror Mirror on the Wall scene?!
‘Mirror Mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?’
‘Er, it’s you..it’s not even close, you’re facking fit’
End credits
“She’s not going to be dreaming about true love. She’s going to be dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be, and that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave and true.”
The original cartoon, which was Disney’s first feature-length film, is “extremely dated when it comes to the ideas of women being in roles of power and what a woman is fit for in the world”, she told EW.
And in an interview with Extra TV, she said: “The original came out in 1937, and very evidently so. There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird. So, we didn’t do that this time"
Having just read the whole thing on a Forbes article.
Seems like a lot about nothing, she’s not the first person to be dismissive about a film or idiotic in promotion
I guess the difference this time is that she’s a girl which is triggering for most

She said that stuff last September. Why's it suddenly become a thing now?

Why are men so easily upset about someone's opinion on a cartoon? "Spitting on the graves" of those people who produced it? Christ, you are dramatic lads.
It is like if there was a football film made back in the 60s that allowed pass backs and then someone wanted to make a remake but was a modern take where pass backs are BANNED. That's what you're annoyed at.

Bit of a reach isn’t it? Why would it be triggering cos she’s a girl?
She's everything that's wrong with these entitled, never been told No, brainwashed, woke idiots. She's not only helped destroy a movie she's been plucked from obscurity to star in but she's so ungrateful about it too. The ungratitude played out in that PR disaster interview about being paid on the picket line.
Hideous young woman. A walking PR disaster.
Let's be honest, Disney is a disgusting company anyway and deserves to burn. They destroy everything they touch.
