What’s the rumoured fee?

It’s far from ideal but you can’t really turn it down if it’s in the region of 150m

The issue is then who do you get in this window or is it a case of using it to get two top players next summer or in Jan
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At this stage we have to turn it down.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would make no sense. I get that it’s an absolute ball ache to do it at this time but he’s 31. The money will never be this good again.

You’re big outsiders to win the title this year.

Liverpool need a freshen up in a few positions this would allow Klopp to ramp up his Liverpool 2.0

Probably does write off the big competitions for a season though given how difficult it will be to do top class business in 3/4 positions now.

Thinking longer term you kind of have to if he wants it and you’re handsomely rewarded
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we sell him now we can wave goodbye to a top 4 finish this season. We are not a club who can afford to go 2 years without champs league. What good is having 150m in the bank if you are behind say man city arsenal newcastle man utd and chelsea for a player choosing his preferred destination.

Money is clearly not that tight. We just bid £110m for a guy. Salah is needed now. He can go next summer if he really wants to and if the fee comes down so be it.

If hes sold this summer its the beginning of the end for me.

We can only really form a proper judgement in nine days from now.

Given the fact Klopp has said many times he wants business done early doors so he can integrate the players in pre season, shows the transfer window has been wretched. Did they not have an idea who they wanted to sign? Because that’s the way it looks at the moment. Also why sell when we have no replacements lined up???

We've literally signed three more dfieldrrs for the three that have left. They're better at football too.

Have you been living under a rock?

Signed three midfielders*

We could maybe do with one more, possibly a CB too.

Two unexpectedly though. Hence us looking to sign more midfielders.

We have a squad of 23 so can use two more. 23 is actually the squad limit in Europe anyway. It really isn't the end of the world, but acting like it's been the worst window ever, when we've brought in real quality, is laughable really.

It's been a bit average and one or two more quality additions would make it excellent.

You just know we'll sign someone in Jan anyway, we normally do.

Too right - business done early before valuations spiralled out of control.

yes the window has positives and negatives. some really good signings, but an embarrassing debacle too.
look to the future; what can be done in the remainder of the window? hopefully we can redeem ourselves with some more signings....however

i believe the main issue is the DOF position. this schmadke (SP?)fella isnt up to the standard needed. we were spoiled with edwards and he deserved the break. it was his apprentice that has really let us down. he knew the system and how to get things done right but left with no replacement lined up.
when this window closes i vote we say tata to the DOF and ensure we have a proper replacemnt. maybe ask edwards to return? or at least to recommend someone

As for Mo, keep him this year. If he gets another 20+ goals this year, the saudis will return. if their offer is good £150m for 32y/o then id say take it. id seriously hope his replacemtn is lined up prior tho

So outs were

Keita.....constantly injured
AOC......see above

Milner 37...utility player
Hendo...33...1st team player
Fabinho..30..1st team player

We lost two real 1st team players with one at the end of his career really and another who looks past his best. We introduced Bajcetic and bought macca and Szlob with Endo, all I all younger and just as good.

Not eve mentioned Thiago yet either, we are far from having problems...we are good

If we could tempt Edwards to return after a break then that could potentially be bigger than any player we sign.

You lot need to buy some players. Not sell your best one.

Right time for him to leave imo.

Liverpool could cash in on a fading player and he could get a new lease of life in the Pro League which is fast becoming the place to be in football.

He's not as electric or dominant as he was back in 2017-2019. He's more fallible nowadays.

The old Mo Salah would not have lost 5-2 at home to Real Madrid, or failed to qualify for the World Cup.

Thiago is a problem.

As good as he is on the ball, i've seen people in nursing homes more mobile.

If Thiago played 90% of the games this year I’d have no doubt we would be top four.

So it looks like Konate will be out for the game against Newcastle. Not to worry, it’s nothing our extensive summer rebuilding project won’t be able to cope with

Has to be really. Not ideal but bar City with Ake no team in the league has a top notch back up CB, and Ake is at a push with that.

Matip to come I but I hope they forget about Trent inverting into midfield. Matip doesn’t have the legs to cover for him the way Ibou does.

No thanks, prefer to keep Salah.

Who would replace him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Confused! Is Salah floating rumors of being "unhappy", or is the club signaling that they to cash him in at the best price?
