No way Ayling gets dropped for Ipswich but longterm this Spence from Spurs could be interesting.
Piroe will probably be on the bench on Saturday but obviously will occupy that number 9 position soon after.

Unfortunately Jonty I think Orta bought us another dud in Djabi as I think he is quite some way behind even Shackleton and to me looks league one level at best but Rutter now has at least a chance to prove he's worth half his salt in the championship but a shocking extravagant overspend by our previous mob.

This new midfielder Amiri looks the real deal from what I've read up on him as I too confess I knew nothing of him previously but if we get him over the line I think he will really give us something we've lacked since Pablo left and Farke must surely be pleased with the quality of new recruits he's been given and rumoured to being given.

Subs: Darlow, Ayling, Cresswell, Gyabi, Greenwood, Gelhardt, Poveda, James and Rutter.

With Bamford, Summerville, Joseph, Firpo, Cooper and potentially Dallas to come back.

Even without the further additions cited, I am optimistic.

Amiri looks a steal at 5.5m - but as wilko states above has he the desire for the long haul championship campaign.

I think these signings give an ammunition to Rutter and Bamford - less pressure and can play in the right positions and times to suit.

Gyabi is 19. How many people on here were writing Kalvin Phillips off when he was that age? It's far too soon to start casting aspersions about him being a dud or a flop or anything like that. Get a grip.

A loan move this season may be advantageous, or he might grow into his role as 5th choice central midfielder, and might show improvement with measured senior minutes. Why the need to rush to conclusions over a young players carreer though?

He's 2 years older than Archie Gray and to me looks in the few appearances he's been given to lack confidence strength which considering his build is surprising and he seems to also lack pace.

You may think he deserves more time which granted he may develop at a slower rate to Archie but for what we need at the moment he is in my opinion not good enough for the championship so I would be expecting him to either stay in the U23s or go out on loan to a league one club and let's see how he looks in 12 months time.

I just note that Leeds United do not have a U23 team. Nothing meant by it, but the FA keep changing the basis of the development team structure. They seem to change it without a great deal of thought hoping that they will find an acceptable structure eventually.

I put a link on Shauns "Piroe deal agreed" yesterday explaining why Amiri turned his back on us than had a change of mind!..

The reason was Olympique Marseille were after him but they also had a change of mind and went after Joaquin Correa from Inter Milan, so he decided to take the Leeds offer!..

It seems some saw it but didn't read it, or jumped in on the 3rd or 10th page and couldn't be bothered backtracking

I've translated the best I can so if people want they can go to Shauns thread and read it!.

Changed that end of 21/22. To help being the younger players through. Prior to that some of the kids were up agagainst some right bruisers.

Lubo I originally said we needed another midfielder as well as Amiri - totally forgot about Greenwood who can play there. I guess some of these players will get a run out against Salford. Its up to them to impress. I expect Drameh to start that one too.

Wouldnt be surprised if Drameh ends up going this window and we get Spence in

I think dropping down a division, this has to be Gyabi's chance, he hasn't shown anything so far, has to try and make it this season.

I really don't know anything about Amiri yet.

What I would say is all transfers so have have made complete senses, where in previous seasons we chased endless U21s and inappropriate senior players.

This summer is different and whilst I'm not happy with lack of activity and lateness of business, the players we are signing seem the right ones, so I'm trusting they have their judgement right with this one too, should it happen.

Farke wanted him apparently. What i have read is he burst on to the scene (like Micah) and was thought to be one of Germanys future starts but hasn't really progressed as much as they had thought. That could be down to injuries and other factors. Sounds like he needs a fresh start elsewhere and hopefully that will be at Leeds. From what i have read hes more a Saiz than a Pablo.

I think we might loan one or two out if possible. Joffy looks a shadow of himself this season. Now he’s dropped down the pecking order will he want a loan somewhere he can get game time ?

Gyabi does need game time too but from what I’ve seen this season he won’t get it with us.

Could be a good weekend if we can beat high flying Ipswich.

Spence would be another amazing signing.

We think it’s late business but in all honesty I think these deals have been worked on for weeks.

It must be difficult knowing that other clubs, much smaller than yours with money and PL status, can nip in and attract the players you want.

Also we know Swansea are tough to deal with after the James saga.

Southampton have cash to burn and Leicester seem to be going for it this season as well.

No way has this window been a “don’t go to bed yet” window. We’ve got that to look forward to next week 🤣🤣

By all accounts we are also signing Genk forward Joseph Paintsil.

Seems a bit of a strange one to me this, exciting player but isnt he a winger? Makes me think someone is leaving us....
