Can't we replace him now?

Hoddle should get another crack at the England job but won't be asked

Harry is doing OK at Spurs and I can't think of anyone else (realistic) I'd want so until that time I'm happy for him to stay. But I don't see him lasting or staying for more than a season or two more.

Maybe you could let Harry go for a year with the promise he can return when the media hunt him down after another England failure.

I just cant understand how Harry wants this England job, its such a poison chalice.

Sorry Greaves but as much as I wanted it to be a success, do you remember what it was like with Hoddle at Spurs? His ego seemed to override what was good for the team. We had goalscoring problems but he kept a proven £11 million signing (Rebrov) on the bench - Rebrov was not the failure everyone paints him as, it's just pretty hard to succeed when you're constantly kept out of the team by an ageing Les Ferdinand. That's just one example. Great player, mediocre manager.

An interesting alternative geniusgreaves, but he hasn't had a managerial position since Wolves years ago.. from what I remember that didn't go too well for him either.

Isn't he running some kind of football academy in Spain now..? I'm sure they did a football focus on it a while back

I`d have Hoddle back at Spurs as manager but could we trust him not to dismantle the squad Harry has built.

My gut is Harry wont be offered the England job anyway, so we will have him a good while yet.

Rockney........................I understand the point you are trying to make, however I think Hoddle has learnt from his mistakes and would be better second time around.

Rebrov made his name in the Russian leagues and where 2-3 teams dominated at the time including Dynamo Kiev.
He only scored 10 goals in 60 appearances at the Lane and was even worse at West Ham, he did not like London and was involved in a race row when he told Pavluchenko not to go near WHL, as there was only dark skinned people there and lots of crime.

As for Hoddle at Wolves, they were a struggling club then and Hoddle had a fall out with the Board over money for players.

Nearly everywhere else he had good success including Chelsea & Swindon.....................

I now this is going to divide opinion, but its Spurs so that is always going to happen anyway.

We should also remember he was doing well with England until the Eileen Drewery incident, he also has the next best England record behind Sir Alf & Fabio...........

What did Hoddle do to make you think he deserves another shot at either job?

Wolves were 17th in the Championship when he took them over. His original contract was only for 6 months, Hoddle resigned over disagreements re funding for new players and there were also rumours that the players were upset over Dave Jones being sacked.

NOT Hoddle. Was it he who said that people in wheelchairs were sinners in a previous life or something like that? No,he's a failure as a manager. The answer is Ancelotti.
