With 10 men we should have closed the game down, but we just kept inviting Forest on. ETH should teach them how to shut a game down under these circumstances. (and how to start a game when alert and awake). Its basic stuff.
Begining to doubt ETH and his ways. There was so much to build on after year 1 but things seem to be going backwards this preseason and new season so far. I would say that its not certain at all that the Sheikh will keep ETH if the takeover does happen as reported recently

We ain’t getting sold, the only one that said it’s happening is that fat greasy Tory Custis
What do Chelsea get out of that type of deal? We are a club they are in direct competition with for European places.
If they agree to loan him to us that's a huge worry in itself surely as the clearly don't think he makes us better.
Amazing to think that this is a player Pep was really keen on signing not too long ago. It shows just what one bad career decision can have on a player.

Utd will probably pay his wages (£9m a year), they may pay a loan fee and it gets what is probably an unhappy player out of a bloated squad whilst possibly adding some value if he plays well.
The Cucurella rumour is concerning because it would make me think the Shaw injury is worse than first thought and the club want a more developed LB than what we currently have.
Hopefully the Henderson money can be used on a DM. Pretty strange that we sold a highly rated GK for £7m who can play the way EtH wants but look like buying a suspect keeper from Fenerbache for £2m less.
Unless Shaw will be out for months, I’d rather give Alvaro a chance, or even try Martinez on the left.
Shaw is out until November lads

Martinez is too slow for LB but I’d like to see Fernandez get a go.
Wouldn’t be against Cucurella. Was one of the best LB’s in the league at Brighton and Pep wanted him.
November! The Cucurella loan makes more sense then, he’s quite useful at cutting into the midfield too isn’t he which we do with Shaw. I wonder who the other 2 options are? Far too risky to expect Álvaro Fernández to come in and do a job for 3 months and then be dropped as soon as Shaw is fit.

I don’t disagree but what’s wrong with giving a kid a chance to sink or swim?

Unless it was Kovar's decision to leave.
At 23 you'd want to play more first team football and although he was on the bench for Leverkusen today and might be initially for the time being, he'll have a much better chance of establishing himself at Leverkusen with 33 year old Hradecky as competition as opposed to 27 year old Onana who United have spent big money on.
Shaw has had one too many injuries
Wouldn't be surprised if the club extends his contract
Because he hasn’t played a single game for us and is only 20 and only ever played in the Championship. It’s a huge leap and could have a massive negative effect on his career.

No doubt it’s a good move for the lads career but we seem to be desperately searching for a back up GK (none of which sound any good) and are willing to spend money that we ideally need to use on other areas.

Or it could be the best thing for him. 20 isn’t that young in football.

Yeah I agree it's not an ideal situation at the moment.
You honestly think a 20 year old who’s never played for the club or in the PL is going to come in, play week in week out and fit in and perform? It’s a massive risk which I’m guessing EtH doesn’t want to make.

It’s happened before.
GK is a particular case, I think, where so much rides on split-second judgement calls that can only come from experience. So it's tough, and rare, for a talented young keeper to progress from second choice to first at a big club without going via extensive experience at a decent level elsewhere.
Another factor could be that while Vitek was highly rated, some see Elyh Harrison as the cream of the academy keepers, and potentially an elite talent.
When is Malacia due back?

Possibly not but the options we are being linked with are hardly inspiring.
Dalot and Malacia for me is fine. Like I said though it all depends on when he's back.
It's a shame Alex Grimaldo wasn't still available.
