Must admit Rutter does sound quite grounded.
As I asked the other day, I'm really wondering whether the Piroe signing is going to be a watershed moment for him as he seems to have an understanding with Piroe already, and is playing on the right, his natural position.
Looks very promising indeed.
(Just hope we get the defence sorted out next week. Felt for Cody as yesterday really was a mare for him. Luke was left leaden footed on the first Ipswich goal - possible offside though?)
Yes agree with that. It is good that we now should have a set up where we can play to the lad's strengths.I have always felt since Saiz left all those years back we have needed someone who can beat players and get shots off. It is early days but I'd imagine, like any player, if you are surrounded by good players it is going to bring the best out of you.
I'd like to see him again against Salford and build on this much improved display.

Yes it was interesting when he described himself and Piroe as a good pairing after only 1 training session and 1 game together … and they both scored … hopefully a sign of good things to come👍😁

I thought he (Rutter) did really well against 4/5 players on the edge of their box to get his shot away and of course get a goal too👍
Rutters goal and Jamies surge forward and pass for Sini's goal, were real highlights for me. (Piroe was just being Piroe - class).
In fairness we have Sini and Cry who can also do that but in many games we are going to face sides parking the bus so the more players who have those sort of skills the better.
Also loved Gray's pinpoint crossfield ball to the left in the lead up to the third I think it was.He is still raw in a few areas as you'd expect for a 17 year old in his first senior season, but has some real quality about him.

I also like Farke’s management of Archie. Farke seems determined to keep him grounded (despite his family history and raw talent). I think under Farke’s tutelage, we could have another member of the Gray dynasty on our hands👍.
I haven't seen the interviews, but Farke been brilliant so far and his comments about taking responsibility for Drameh, that it wasn't his fault, was spot on.
So far, he's had real poise in how he's dealt with things, been an excellent appointment.
I'm one of first to be disappointed in Rutter. 35m price tag should be buying us one of best talents in Europe for that price/age.
That is not his fault that or inept management paid that much, put that much pressure on him.
I'm glad he's gotten that goal, that must help his confidence and with a good striker in now that takes pressure off him too.
Well done both.
Rutter was my MotM.
Was really tricky and involved positively in so many of our moves.
He’s gone from zero to hero in a single game for me. I just hope he can perform at that level consistently from now on.
Rutter did get the fans motm on X. Thought he had a good game.
As I’ve said before he looks gangly and runs like his legs don’t belong to him but I do think there’s a player in him. His strength is a big plus and he has quick feet for a big lad.
Farke @ Rutter sounds like a restaurant chain as well 🤣🤣
