Amiri off, Paintsil off, not a good start. Need to hold on to what we have an hopefully find a playmaker somewhere.

Amiri: we are surely dodging a bullet here, he's been flapping about like a landed fish. No thanks.

The guy's an effin' timewaster – let's ditch him and move on.
It seems Kicker don't understand the fuss either!.

Amiri: One day in Leeds - and another no
Now Nadiem Amiri's odyssey should finally be over - as far as a transfer to Leeds United is concerned. After the Leverkusen midfielder had traveled to England by private jet on Monday, he told those responsible again after positive talks.
I'm moving to Leeds, I won't, I'm moving to Leeds, I won't - the transfer saga involving Nadiem Amiri and Leeds United, which had already turned into a posse on Friday, has experienced yet another escalation. However, no contract was signed.
On Monday, Amiri traveled by private jet from Dusseldorf to Leeds in order to make the switch to the Premier League relegation team after all. During the on-site visit, the former German national player (five appearances) took a look at the traditional club's town and training grounds and held talks with those responsible.
But in the afternoon Amiri told the United bosses, who were quite surprised, that he didn't want to move to Leeds after all. The 26-year-old, who on Wednesday canceled the transfer that had already been completely negotiated between the two clubs and also the player and Leeds, but gave his vows to Leeds on Thursday to revoke this on Friday, decided again against Leeds.
A day in Leeds and another no - this can hardly be understood rationally. The most obvious explanation would be that an offer from another club fluttered in for Amiri, which the player has no qualms about.
A year between the bench and the grandstand?
After all, he had signed up for a transfer to Leeds, as he saw the danger of having to play second-class for more than a season after United's false start in the Championship. In addition, the impending birth of his first child in the next two weeks had made him doubt whether the step to Leeds was the right one.
In Leeds, Amiri would have been given a lucrative four-year contract, which would have even seen him earn more than his contract with Bayer 04, which runs until 2024, after promotion to the Premiere League. Leverkusen would have received a transfer fee of almost six million euros.
But that no should have been Amiri's last as far as Leeds United are concerned. The English, who are ambitious for promotion without any ifs and buts, have to reliably fill the squad position actually intended for Amiri four days before the transfer ends. Amiri, on the other hand, threatens a year between the bench and the stands when he returns to Bayer - unless another club can convince the player to say yes quickly and sustainably and also meet Bayer's transfer requirements. After the events of the past few days, nobody wants to bet on that anymore...

Moving country and dropping a tier is a big decision, especially when you’re just about to have a child, but why get the flight over if you weren’t sure.
Don’t need someone who will throw their toys out if we don’t go up
Paintsil not signing as he's a winger must be an indication that Sinisterra at least is staying put so I'm not bothered about that but this Amiri on off saga has disappointed me as I think he would have been a great midfield addition similar to Pablo but not to be and I hope there's a contingency signing in the pipeline.
Exactly Best, and that's why Kicker are saying it was dumb of him to say yes and no and yes and agree everything, only to come over and than say no again!..
But the problem for him now is, they're saying if he stays where he now is he'll end up as a benchwarmer, whereas if he'd gone to Leeds he'd have got a 4 year deal with more money and if promoted he'd earn a big big pay rise!..
This must be more to do with his Lady but was stupid coming over to Leeds on a private flight that someone had to pay for, and that won't have been cheap!..
Romano saying Djed Spence is coming on loan. Agreement by both clubs.
Amiri apparently wanted a get out clause if we didn't go up and Farke said no.
If this is true Farke, who in my opinion is the best thing that has happened at Leeds since Bielsa, has just gone up in my estimation yet again.

Yep, it's happening. One million fee with an option
to make it permanent is what I read. Hope so.
Excellent signing if it's true.
be shocked if Drameh is still here by the end of deadline day now
Love how Farke has come in and replaced Ayling and Bamford. Two players in the team that needed moving out and aren't good enough anymore - maybe squad players. Piroe and Spence are top additions to the team in two positions we've been desperate to see a change in. Truth is these two positions should have been done 2 years ago. Embarrassing it’s taken this long
