Positive - no injuries and we played well. Saved me a tenner next round 😏
Negative- we lost.
You can see Farke's ideas started to take hold.
That's a positive. Shows how sh 1 te those idiots
in charge were between MB and DF's time.

Problem is he needs the players.
We missed a left back and we missed a number 9 today.

Rumour today was we turned down £25m for Rutter
Utter bullsheet
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would drive him wherever for 10m never mind 25m
Bamford puts some of those chances away
In conclusion as long as Piroe stays fit we won't struggle to score goals but if he gets injured then I'm not sure we have a suitable replacement as tonight proved.... maybe Joseph or does the club need to bring in another centre forward?

Let’s just get Piroe back in and leave PB in his natural environment of the treatment room.
Just seen the highlights... and as I thought complete dominance but with no proper centre forward against an ex keeper and a defence having a worldy we were always going to struggle to score unless a screamer went in from outside the box which we were unlucky a couple of times hitting the woodwork.
When the dust settles I think Farke will have seen for himself how important Piroe s absence was and how imperative it is to have a suitable replacement for him incase of injuries and suspensions so I'm taking a big positive from tonight which is hopefully tonight's ridiculous profligacy in front of goal is the catalyst for another striker to be signed before the transfer window closes.
Be more inclined to shore up the defence first, before getting another striker.
There’s no solidity to our defending. We’ve had less clean sheets than a diarrhetic shiztsu.

I'm not a vet, but I agree
Clearly from his display in the penalty shoot out you can see why Darlow was never going to be number 1 at Newcastle, think I could have save a couple of those.
We can discuss the rights and wrongs of the game all day long but only one mans opinion matters and that's the manager and its an opinion I do trust though for what its worth Rutter doesnt move like a centre forward or predate ( is that a real word ?) like one and I can see why we were trying to get the flip flopper in,
Bottom line is it’s another disgusting defeat to add to a ever increasing embarrassing defeats to lower league and non league sides. Absolutely sick of it.
Ridiculously Ive spent a year saying we should have brought Matt Smith back for a plan B last 10 minutes because we have lacked threat in the air. I was half joking but have felt we needed a second option like hill for ages now. Disappointed that when the game was crying out for a second striker up front to a) help Rutter and b) get more bodies in the box we didn’t have anyone to bring on. How many balls did we put in the box when we were outnumbered about 8 to 2/3. Leeds players just didn’t take a gamble so many times and sat on the edge of the box or failed to attack the near or far posts. Salford lost Smith and were able to bring on a young basketball player.
Cairns brilliant, garbutt assist and smith goal with a part club owner taking the pizz on the microphone. It was almost as bad as the reality tv man coming on for Crawley.
Laughing stock once again
Absolutely fuming
Calm down - it’s the Micky Mouse Cup. It also gives Farke more idea of who can and can’t do what.
To me it doesn’t matter we went out on penalties. I was more interested in how we played.
Chances are we would not win the damn thing anyway. Let’s concentrate on something we can actually win and get more points on the board.
Embarrassing? Maybe but not massively imo.
We have become comedy gold. No wonder our cup games are always televised, we can be relied on to give all our detractors a good laugh at our expense.
It seems we've got the same mental block with lower-division teams as we have when playing London clubs, which smacks of lack of character to me. And yes we do make ourselves a bit of a laughing stock in knockout competitions. However, there's no loss in not being in this tin pot comp so let's move on.
Embarrassing
We were a premier league side last season fielding Internationals and multi million pound players and lost to a team that should be in the non league. Beaten by the likes of Cairns, Matt Smith and Garbutt. Thankfully its only the EFL and not the bigger more prestigious FA Cup. Doesn't matter what players we have or whoever is in charge, we just always seem to fluck up against minnows in the cup.
Liverpool, Man Utd etc always find away, they'd have won on penalties last night, we just always seem to bottle it.
have felt we needed a second option like hill for ages now

Would you really want us to have some lump on the bench to bring on just to provide some aerial threat? There are players like that - Andy Carroll, Keifer Moore - and it rarely works. Andy Carroll spent years being a last ditch sub for West Ham and it worked a handful of times, it’s not worth it.
I’d rather us just play good football like we did last night, it was just one of those games where you just can’t score. We created some brilliant chances
Piroe would have made a huge difference but not sure id go out and spend on another striker when we have Bamford and Joseph out injured.
