the strikers that should have been called up are:
Rooney, Sturridge, Agbonlahor, Welbeck, Bent/Defoe
Heskey will be given another go.
Sturridge, Welbeck, Agbonlahor and Heskey
Seriously I would say Zamora
I don't like the idea of Sturridge playing as a lone striker
More suited with a partner or wide IMO.
I wouldn't mind seeing
Johnson Parker ? Young
Welbeck Sturridge
Danny played well, hope he cements his place in 2nd or 3rd choice.
I think Sturridge would do well in the hole in Rooney's absence
He and Welbeck have a good under-standing and I'd like to see something ilke:
Hart
Richards Smalling Terry Baines
Parker Cleverly
Johnson Sturridge Young
Welbeck
I still don't understand why Capello won't play Richards
The Blue Kenyan's lineup looks pretty good. I dont think it's something Capello would ever consider, but it could work. Plenty of fluidity in there as Sturridge and Young would swap around loads, with Johnson maybe switching over to the left now and then.
No,Sturridge is competing for a wing position with Walcott, Downing, Lennon and Young.

........................................................
I don´t think he is technically good enough for that role and he needs to be used in a position where he can use his pace. He is not a back to goal type of player.
Hart
Richards Smalling Terry Baines
Parker Cleverly
Johnson Sturridge Young
Welbeck

Then when Wayne returns, replace Sturridge.
The key could be Young, Rooney, Welbeck understanding each other's game at club level.
Sturridge is better than Johnson and should start over him when he comes back. I also think Baines should be over Cole
Biggish he played in the hole for the U21's and did well linking the midfield to attack, bringing the ball from deep and attacking the defence between between the final third and the penalty box.
Sturridge isn't a winger though imo. He can play out wide if the formartion is 433 but not in a 442/4231.
Adam Johnson has to be one of the most underrated english players (yes, an underrated english player, wow). He barely gets games for CIty yet when he does, I swear he always gets a vital goal/assist
U21........, you need to stop using that stuff as some kind of evidence. The gulf is massive and to play in the hole you need to be two footed and technically tight ion you all round game.
If he could play that role then Chelsea would never have signed Mata.
I
Whether Sturridge is a winger or not, that is the position he plays for Chelsea and unless he plays as a striker, Capello won't consider him for that position.
City fans don't rate him very highly it seems and describe him in a similar way we would describe Kalou orUnited fans would describe Nani 2-3 years ago. Sturridge also starts or his club and isn't a squad player. Because Rooney and to a lesser extent Young will track back as well ad having a combative midfielder like Parker and a rb who can defend in Richards, I don't mind seeing Sturridge start there.
Sturridge should start ahead of Welbeck all day long.Sturridge was the better of the two at the U21 championships and his class will prevail in the england team eventually

Welbeck scored our only 2 goals at the U21s
so because he scored the goals automatically means he's better?

Never said that
Just pointing out the fact that without Welbeck's goals, we would've scored nought
the goals don't overshadow that sturridge had the better tournament
Correct me if I'm wrong but Sturridge assisted both Welbeck goals, no? He definately assisted one
