Alfie Pond gone to Stockport on loan
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’ll be a big fish there
Only seen a few minutes of Pond the other night but looked sound big lad too, definitely got a future in the game.
Guessing Podence will go to the middle East, Qatar or Saudi over the next week or so.
Jonny staying. Top man. Had a good game in the week. Would love to see him get back to his best.
Yeah Podence will defo go somewhere, Jordao you would think as well. Not sure we have anyone else we will send out other than those two now?
Percy reckons Bellegarde is a done deal
Strasbourg say it is done as well
Watching sky deadline day, an awful shambles and naturally no news on there yet.
Sky and E&S saying Bellegarde is sorted.
But we don't need another effing midfielder I said, well, I bought a new jumper earlier and I don't need that but I just liked it she said.
U21s beat Palace 3-2, good sign. Fraser on the score sheet again. Can he get three in three in a week?
So in summary
Gonzales
Bueno
Bellegarde
Doyle
Doherty
The relevant incoming
Anyone think Julen is just a spineless cant?
You haven't listed the (much longer) list of outgoings.
I know Jack about four of those five but even without them I thought we had enough to survive, with them who knows, if we have spent as well as we did in January we could be in for a much better than expected season.
Doing the stadium tour with the Mrs and son tomorrow, hoping we can gatecrash the Bellegarde photo shoot.
I don't think it is a particularly great window tbh but it isn't a quit your job window though.
Bueno seems to be the pick of the bunch for me
Not sure this is a window you can call on deadline day. Could turn out one of our best, but right now it's a complete mystery.
Seems with Bellegarde coming in we are likely not seeing a return to a back three as well.
At least with the additions we can be flexible, as we should be.
More bodies than expected but none replace the quality lost of neves and I guess nunes

Also, we still didn’t address the glaring issue of lack of goals across the front line.
I suppose we’ll just have to hope that Sasa, Fabio and to a lesser degree, Cunha can score the goals that will keep us away from the bottom three.
On a positive note, Luton and Sheffield United look very poor.
Neves was a quality player and he did well with us. However, we are now a more attacking side and the stats are proving that. As for Nunes, there were those who thought he'd only be with us for a short time and if we're all honest, he didn't come up to the expectations we'd hoped. A hefty profit from both those sales has given us the opportunity to bring in players who could well turn out to be just as good.
It's now up to O'Neil to bring out the best with what he's got, and given time, I think he'll do a good job. Let's just hope that the new additions from abroad can settle in quickly.
Good points sunny
But could be doesn't mean they are as good
So whilst we've added strength to the squad are we any better off?
Hard to say right now really.
Goldi made a fair point yesterday when saying you can't really judge this window right now and that is accurate.
In the immediate future we are probably weaker as a first eleven but maybe a touch better in depth. But a year or two from now Doyle and Gonzales could be pivotal players. They could of course do nothing as well.
A cliche saying but Sasa is like a new signing for this season, as is Fabio.
Massive opportunity for GON to really prove himself as a coach. He’s got to get the most of the squad he’s got now.
No doubt there is plenty of potential in the players at his disposal though.
Do we see any newbies start tomorrow I wonder?
Fair to assume Gonzales will primarily be an impact sub in the immediate future and presumably Doyle will basically replace Hodge for now on the bench.
The question really seems to be what formation GON fancies as to whether we see Bueno at the back in a three or Bellegarde in a midfield three?!?
Do we think Dawson is being dropped and it will soon be Bueno and Kilman as a pairing?
Do we think Gomes or Lemina is being benched for Bellegarde or can he play further forward?
Nice to have options.
Probably only wolfie and GON know the answers to those questions. All will be revealed in due course for the rest of us. 👍
