seems a bit like a 40m punt tbh.
Ok, so you dont rate him ?
Well , the going rate is the rate, in this market is nonsensical.
The Saudis are offering 200m for a 31 year old Mo Salah and Qataris are about to give 6 bln for Utd.

never said that , just that I havent seen enough to justfy the outlay.
To me it seems like your hoping he takes off and becomes a 40m or more player.
Using the Saudi market as a comparison is just stupid. Would be like me saying a team like Livingson can ask for 20m for one of their youngsters on the basis that england pay 40m+
On what we have seen he does look like he has bags of talent.
Just a continuation of Chelsea's policy to sign players with the potential to be top class rather than players for the here and now. Going to be interesting to see if it pays off.
yeah , it is one big punt on future potential, right across the whole rebuild, plus we have paid over the top, due the fact we are not in the C/L.

Tbf to us, and I agree it's a risk, as all the signings have been, we usually do well at recouping fees regardless of performance
U227- my remark about the market in general does just simply reflect the absurdity of the money in the game today.
So to say that 40m for Palmer is an accurate valuation is agreed questionable, but im sure it could be reasoned it is valid or it is a punt on potential.
He comes with a City player premium tbf.
Honestly just surprised we are still signing players. It's an addiction.
Better signing than Jackson imo
An addiction, no definitely not , your reading red tops mate
The squad is a full 25 man with cover in every position.
Only top six sides will have this type of structure
It is short an out and out goal scorer.
light in experience at the top level.
But it is only a 25 man squad, we have three players to move on, sale or loan, C HoD, Cuc, and Chalobah.
Better than Jackson ???
Err not sure about that, Jackson is a nice footballer
At least one chelsea fan on here better take out his shoe laces if Hudson Odoi is sold !!

Chelsea started to inflate the market back in 2003
i do hope that comment makes you feel better
So what is going on with Fenway ?
They've been punting Liverpool on the open market for some time, bit over priced as i understand.
Do you think Klopps on his way out ?
Salah is only a matter of time, come on lets be honest for Fenway it is all about the money.

Try again Ifarka. Nonsense as per all of your articles 😂. At least do a bit of research before you write.
Klopp has another season after this and I'm very confident he'll last longer than Loletino who, despite spending over £200m still hasn't addressed the gaps in your squad.
If Saudi are willing to offer £150m now then no reason that they won't offer a similar amount in Jan.
Not for sale, ok that doesnt mean the club have not been punted.
The club is not for sale because the Fenway could'nt get the price.
The story did'nt just arise from nowhere
Well nonsense articles, you are entitled to your opinion, but im not writing for the benefit of you and your board
Yes agreed about the point that if the Saudis are happy to offer now , they will offer in Jan, but i will suggest the figure will not be what it is today.
Klopp, well its only a matter of time imo
Addressing gaps, the only gap im frustrated about is the out and out striker position, but Lukaku has been part of that issue, and the injury to Nkunku is unfortunate.
But tbh , i and most Cfc supporters are very happy with this squad.
Take out the FFP compliance pressure, i think that the club have done very well, not 10/10 , but i would say 8/10.
You cant have everything!
Im happy the the new ownership are backing the club and players
whats games is he going to play in?

Most games. Have you seen our attack? Broja, Nkunku and Mudryk injured. We’re left with Sterling, Jackson, Madueke and now Palmer.

I hear you but at some point shouldn't the club play its own teenagers instead of spending huge sums on other team's teenagers
at some point, ?
I think that is really about how you/ we believe how the club should operate:
I don't think the ownership look at this way
I think it must be understood in the context of how the owners intend to run the club & what the reality of the clubs situation is ?
Cfc traditionally in recent history post 2004, have adopted a strategy to trade players to bring in pure profit. FFP compliance and it helps the club to compete with the clubs who have bigger stadiums, not necessarily to play in the first team.
I think we can agree this has been successful
The new ownership are investment bankers, i think it would be reasonable to suggest that they intend to continue with this strategy.
Their transfer dealings illustrate this.
Imo, i think that they see the academy players as revenue stream first and potential first team players second, as a bonus.
The club seem to have shifted it approach under the new ownership and are now acquiring young highly rated footballers who represent significant potential , not highly priced finished article footballers, as under Roman was the norm.
It is highly risky strategy, as it adds huge pressure, particularly as the club have undertook a total rebuild.
Unfortunately since they took over they have backed themselves into between a rock & a hard place situation.By loosing the C/L revenue and status.
This has FFP implications, over the entirety of the amortization period, next 5 years as the club seem to have currently maxed the amortization figure allowable / permitted within the clubs revenue ability.
Do you think that if the club had focused of academy players over the last 20 years, the club would have enjoyed the success it has?
Personally i doubt that very much.
I believe for this new ownership , it is all about the money, they are investment bankers after all.
But for it to work, they need success.
They are putting their money where their mouths, as supporters it is the best we can hope for imo.
All up for sale:
Gallagher -50m.
Chalobah-50m
Maatsen- 30m
He will leave on a free after seven years of not playing a single game, just as Chelsea go under.
