I think Mount is going to play a hell a lot more than some of our fans think/hope.
Does the personnel at our disposal now open the option of deploying a midfield diamond with Amrabat at the base, Cas and Mount at the sides and Bruno up to? Probably a bad hot take.
Still getting used to the fact we may actually have a midfield it’s feels weird.

I'd rather Casemiro at the base for defensive reason but, having said that, I've read Amrabat is better at taking the ball under pressure and carrying it so would make sense having him to progress it. Casemiro there to fight fires. Perhaps that 4222 box would be an option too with Casemiro and Amrabat the deepest and Bruno and AN other in front. That AN Other would probably be Mount more often than not but could also be Antony/Sancho or perhaps even Eriksen etc.

Definitely a bad hot take.
But Amrabat gives us real options in midfield. Hopefully his best form can translate well to the PL.

Could work if we had decent full backs.
People underestimate Casemiro attacking ability too, he’s actually pretty good in the box.

If we're going to play 4222, I think the Austrian coach, Ralf Rangnick, might potentially be a decent successor to ten Hag.

easy to run through
Ten Hag apparently going for an experienced CB to go behind them too. Apparently he likes the look of Lovren and will see what can be done in the next few hours.

Of course Mount will play loads. It wouldn't look good on the manager if he didn't.
I'm not sure Ten Hag would be willing to sacrifice width in attack, especially if he doesn't push the full-backs any higher.
People underestimate Casemiro attacking ability too, he’s actually pretty good in the box.
-----------------------------------------
It would probably be better for us if Amrabat screened and Casemiro was free to go forward because the latter's decision making and timing of challenges can be pretty poor at times leaving us horribly exposed.
He dives in far too often but that seems to be more of a collective issue at United than an individual one.

No but we still need somebody to take up better defensive positions especially when opposition teams transition and delay making a tackle rather than diving in and opening up the entire pitch.
I know it can be considered bad form by some but we could really do as well with some good old 'housery in the team even if it's just the trick trademarked by Pep where the whole team take it in terms to commit little tactical fouls before there's even the threat of being broken on.
