There you go Sandy, you are definitely in the minority here - most giving it 5/10 because we’ve been left short.

The same players that we all slate week in week out are still here. I don't think that can be seen as much of a success. Considering that was the priority
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The priority was to strengthen the 1st XI which has happened.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Surely for an outstanding window we'd need to go beyond that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You cannot do everything in one window. Changing half the first XI in one window is very, very decent.

Who is this top centre back we were going to buy who would sit on the bench ?

If we had Europe I’d get it as that’s a lot more games

A top class centre back will want big wages and to play ….I want vdv and Romero to play as they could be our new Toby and verts

They had dier and Sanchez backing them up…..there wasn’t this moaning then

If one of them has to play due to an injury theme the breaks

I can’t think of any prem team (city aside) who have 3 top class centre backs

I’m not gonna rate the window but I’m happy with our business ….the squad had some work done and more to come

posted on 2/9/23

Everyone else calling it a 5 or 6/10 window is precisely why Sandy has given it a 9. Contrary Mary strikes again.

In an age where you lose the best striker of a generation and don’t actively replace him is neglectful. Then there’s not bringing in any defensive cover for the back line after conceding relegation numbers last year. One injury to either centre back and we’re back to where we started.

To call it a 9 is a joke. It’s a 6 at most.

We bought VDV because he can also cover LB - it wouldn’t have been too difficult to convince another Left sided defender to join with the promise of rotating them, Udogie and VDV over a season - plenty of game time for all

1 game a week mate…..don’t need rotation this season is my point

have you written off FA Cup then?

Do you think Romero won't get suspended or injure the same with VDV who was hobbling at the end of Fulham game?

Who will we bring on then? Sanchez the floor cleaner or Dier who's turn is slower than an egg?
You don't go out and get players thinking they won't come? A club must have transfer targets and reasons for identifying players, and go and get them.

You think we just click our fingers and sign who we want?

We aren’t city who players will go to to sit on the bench due to medals and salary

Like I say if Sanchez or dier have to play a few games so be it ….we weren’t getting another top class centre back

Example ….Arsenal are much stronger than us but are an injury away from rob holding, he is worse than Sanchez or Dier

The Phillips signing is the sort of signing that makes sense….young and potential , see no reason why he can’t be next in line if he impresses in training

Sanchez and Dier have been our back ups to our best centre back pairing in history …..I don’t remember this clamouring for another centre back then

Sanchez in Anges system as his uses

Dier is useless and I’m hoping he isn’t needed

Philips and Veliz signings are reason why I would stretch the transfer rating to 6 at best. This is a good planning from a club who is not known for any planning at all, just cheap targets.

Just think Davies, Dier, Sanchez and Lloris are still here since the days of Poch

These players have dug deep and are staying despite not being part of the first team. They are refusing to go anywhere!!
Talks volume about the chairman. Shambles!

We are paper thin away from a total collapse. Tue night was a brief look into our season when we don't have the first team players playing due to injuries or suspensions.

Last season when the window shut we didn't get cover, and what happened literally the next game we lost Kulu was injured and Moura. This could happen today...We could lose Romero if he gets red carded or breaks his leg?

Will you still be confident if that happened?

No mate, I have set out very clearly why I gave it 9/10. What other posters give it is no business of mine.

It has been an excellent window.

posted on 2/9/23

Never said I’m confident just content with our window

I do think Sanchez in this system can do a job when required …..pace is needed and he has it

I won’t argue with fellow spurs fans and I get the frustrations , I’m just trying to put a bit of a positive spin on things as it’s not all doom and gloom

I think we are in better shape as a team / squad than before the summer

Not including Kane in that summary as clearly that’s a complete downer but was not a shock

Some of our supporters live in a dream world where they think another Maldini is going to come and sit on the bench waiting for an injury.

Most clubs in the Prem are just one or two injuries away from having to throw in players that are not their best. That's the nature of the beast.

Players like Sanchez and PEH are fine to fill in as and when, without major disruptions to the side.

Remember when Sanchez filled in for Romero for three games, the season before last. Nine points, three clean sheets and CL qualification.

I think a lot of people need to come to terms with the fact that every squad has weak points and holes. Only Man City are perfect

Especially at the very beginning of a rebuild
