We were more than alright with the starting lineup bar Dan, it's the subs I didn't like.

A decent cameo by Matheson. Always as had promise. The strikers apart from Charles offer little. Can't see Jerome or Nlundulu ever scoring. Böðvarsson seems to be struggling to get back to where he was. A bit I'd versatility and depth in the squad with the 6 missing tonight. 7 with Johnston.

I thought Bod played well, did a lot of grafting which will have done his fitness a world of good. The goals should come when he's 100% that's if he can stay fit.

Time I was off it's nearly time to get the bacon on

We could be playing catchup at the top by the time it comes around.

Luckily for us, I'm now not going to be in London to be able to go.
It's perhaps a good thing as I don't recall seeing us win down there, and I've been a few times over the years.

Looking at the highlights it looked like men against boys.

Last season we had lots of joy with subs coming off the bench and scoring goals. That isn't happening this season, have we let the players who could affect the game late on go?

Sometime during the season, we will probably need those late goals.

There's a flaw in subs scoring idea, we don't have players to come on who have learnt the art of scoring.

We surely must already have a striker or two in our sights for January. It could be balanced out by putting out some of the trash we seemed to have aquired.

There's a downside to this break in fixtures.

The Ben is yet again struggling for a story.
They'll probably have some drafts knocked up, in case a player on international duty picks up and injury.
It'll give them a few days' worth of copy.

There's been no scan results on Mendes Gomes since he did his hamstring.
We'll probably have to wait for the Reading team sheet. Six weeks is the normal minimum isn't it, but the way IE risks some players we'll never know how bad it is.

Just 2 games in league one today. Exeter v Orient and Stevenage v Carlisle. Bolton will drop to 3rd if both home sides win, Bolton will go top with wins for the away side.

Not much mention of our internationals
I've only caught Charles being subbed off for Magennis at ht on Thurs so far.

Late winner for Orient at Exeter who thoroughly deserved as dominated plus a late equaliser for Carlisle at Stevenage. Bolton stay 2nd and a point being Stevenage with a game in hand. So a good weekend for the whites without having to play in this heatwave.

Nice day for us in L1 wasn't it.
