I find the whole transfer policy incredibly naive.

Chelsea have bought about 30 footballers for a billion quid.

Why not buy 7 exceptional ones and win stuff?

i think that these guys first investment bankers/ venture capitalist's.

They look at it as accountants, they are player banking prospects.

But they are missing the essential point that the club has to competitive & FFP compliant first for some reason, they must i would assume have a rationale, but i cant see being good for the fans overall.

Considering their track record over the last 16 months.

Chelsea would just end up with seven incredibly expensive flops if they tried that.

It's almost like boehly is treating Chelsea like a pump and dump scheme.

Haha quite possibly I guess.

I don't see how they can keep that squad happy though. Maybe they'll loan a load out.

Squad numbers ?

It is really about the player knowing what the aims of this season are imo.

The squad is carrying a significant injury list, three players who were due to move on are still at the club despite the 14 aprx out goings.

It is a squad 25 man with cover for Fofana & Nkunku, plus the three players who have not moved.

The players are on long term contracts, they have to look at the bigger picture.

Its an easy season in terms of games two cup competitions and the league to focus on, 5th place finish and decent cup runs would be i assume the real aims.

Poch should i hope be able to manage that expectation.

Because Chelsea identify good players based on if other clubs want them they have no idea how to build a good team.

Did you see poch nthe other day in the press conference? He was asked about one of the faceless players Chelsea have on their books and he had no idea who the journalist was talking about

Without the pump

Boehly thought by buying 20 of the hottest young prospects in football, about half are bound to pan out - but football doesn’t work like that. The players have to be right for the club as well - look at Eriksen, De Bruyne, Salah - all with Chelsea at one point but never made it there.

Injury, form, personality, confidence - all these things can stop the players with the very highest potential from succeeding at any one club

Their transfer model pretty much depends on resale values.

Exactly that, sell the few that rise to the top off at huge profit and churn what they can from the others from loan fees and gullible clubs like United and Arsenal.

Hope the team is also good enough to pick up the CL coin.

Apparently Boehly and Levy get on very very well, Levy held a party for him when he first arrived so he could get to know the other chairman. I would be worried if I became a Chelsea fan in the last 20 years
