Top- Yeah,

In our time we've had the 60,s Greavisie and so on, the 70's , Kings road, Osgood, Hutch, Hudson and that greatside.

The hangover in the latter part of the 70's.

Ken Bates buys us for a pound.

The 80's to mid 90's ups -- downs , financial uncertainty.

Matthew Harding & Ken Bates successfully bring the club to a competitive entity.

The sides of the late 90s and early 2000;s

Roman and 20 years of immense enjoyment, Terry, Drogba , Makelele, Ballack, and i could go oh yeah Annelka the Rolls Royce footballer .

Now weve got Tod- Clearlake and Danny Finklestien.

I actually think weve been very fortunate to witness this journey with our club

Fckn Boehley, what a total tool

It is such a corporate approach.

Football isnt like any other business.

Players are effectively staff but they are also highly valuable depreciating assets, critical to the success of the business. They are also a team that needs to be finely balanced. You cannot just sack them or make them redundant you need to find a buyer and negotiate a fee.

This approach follows through in their purchasing model - throwing money at/buying what is perceived to be the best quality investment without really having regard to the make up and balance of a team and the needs of the manager.

It fails to understand the intricacies of football ownership/management.

In the corporate world, if one of your best 'employees' was underperforming and needed an arm putting around them to try and get the best out of them, they'd be out the door. You cannot do that in football, as much as we'd perhaps like to at times

I've been with you Ifarka on the entirety of that journey, and even with the years of amateurish Mears mismanagement we still had the free-wheeling excitement of seeing young talent automatically make their mark in the 1st team. It was chaotic but fun. Times have certainly changed - at the moment it just seems chaotic, and I sense, a whole lot more serious long-term.

You know, part of me prefers that time before Abramovich and so called success, we had a club with proper fans and an identity, we were Chelsea! A proper London club.

I love how during that trip down memory lane, you completely whitewash over Chelsea spending beyond their means and almost going bankrupt before winning the lottery.

For all the stick Daniel Levy gets from everyone for not buying trophies, he's kept Spurs competitive without ever putting Spurs in danger of financial crisis. Chelsea could quite easily have gone the sane way as Leeds if not for their lottery win.

Simon, get a grip, its not in our gift what the owners do.

Seriously its a competitive sports business.

What ever could or couldnt have happened does actually mean nothing.

Football is largely about competing and winning trophies, some thing the club has been successful at in more recent times.

Im happy for you and your principled view, but exactly where does this put you?

Are you kidding me and yourself that Joe & Daniel are straight laced business men.

Joe has been insider dealing for decades, are you naive enough to believe that his behavior has not be benefited your club, or is he just a soft touch that gives multi million tips to his staff, stroll on!

But back to the point of the article, we find ourselves at CFC with another group of owners who are going to do what they want, not what we want.

So telling me about white washing and all that rubbish, is
lost on me.

I was born into supporting my club, worts and all , through highs and lows , good and bad days.
