Should also point out to fans of the Irish sides and the Welsh that there is also the possibility of Nations League play-off places if they don't qualify through the qualification groups.
Didn't realise CONCACAF had their own Nations League. Is it basically the same idea as our one?
As a Scot I've loved the start we have made, Clarke has got us playing effective football and we're winning games and has the players on the same page, might not continue but fingers crossed we can qualify before any drop in form
England will stroll to qualification but the other home nations have a job of work but good luck to them
Similar, split in 3 divisions which are split into groups.
Their top division is the "Swiss model" thingy, so 6 teams in each group but they only play 4 games.
Don’t understand why they do breaks mid season, especially so early on. Does anybody like it?
Just make the group stages mini tournaments in summer/ winter.

Would surely benefit the international managers as well, getting players for a sustained period.
Would mean the domestic league could end 6 or 8 weeks earlier.

I suppose the flip side to that for the smaller nations is that you have less of a squad to rotate with and if a key player is injured at that time you miss them for quite a few games.
I quite like the Nations League as it's added to the calendar but I think friendlies like we have v Korea Republic this week aren't particularly useful if they come before a key group game.
Wouldn't surprise me if the Euro qualifiers take on the "Swiss model" sooner rather than later and then it will merge with Nations League in the end.
England are as good as through with a win against Ukraine - mathematically we would only need a single point from our 3 remaining games as Italy play Ukraine twice. One of our 3 remaining games will be Malta at home.
It’s been yet another stroll for England and really does make you wonder if certain sides should even be forced through qualifying.
Other than that I am looking out for Kazakhstan who have managed to win 3 of their opening 4 to give themselves a chance of qualification

We just need less international football - condense Euro qualifying to a 3-4 week period and ditto Euro World Cup qualifying - let’s be honest it’s shiete if you are an England fan - miles better than 90% of the sides but ultimately you will be eliminated as soon as you run into one of the 10% it’s just boring.
Honestly in this day and age do we really need to have England beating Malta twice or San Marino, Luxembourg, Andorra, Gibraltar, etc surely we can weed out some of the diddy sides not make major nations wallop them home and away - we already beat Malta 4-0 away and North Macedonia 7-0 at home
