Brazil appear to have dropped him for good and rightly so.
Pochettino should follow-suit Post-international.
Badiashile return cannot come soon enough.
Back four of Reece, Disasi / Chalobah, Badiashile, Colwill...
Immeasurably better than the alternative.
You have no experience and leadership at CB without TS
Hi Mf, where do you think that this squad will get us this season.?
Personally on current indications i think we struggle to get 7/8th place.
James, is injury prone tbh.
Chalobah, was / is waiting for his move.
Badiashile, recovery , but young and inexperienced.
Disasi, new to league, inexperienced at this level.
Apart from James who would be playing out of position i cant see the experience and leadership.
Mf, do you think that the squads vulnerability to injury current lack of experienced cover at this level will hinder the clubs ambitions/ aims to return to top flight European football ?
Mf , who are the experienced leaders in this squad?
Correction about, the James comment, regarding his poistion.
Talking of Glaring denominator's
I personally feel the lack quality finishing is the primary issue
I can see the issues with Silva, but that was evident prior to the start of the season.
But surly the point is the squad requires experience and balance.
The whole point of having him in the squad is when the optimum choices are not available he provides competent experienced cover & leadership.Man management.
The balance of the squad is effected the injury list.
Weve conceded 5 goals, not great but not woeful, considering, Fofana,& Badiashile are both out.
Imo, clinical finishing is the glaring issue!
The season is long and there will be lots of twist & turns (as is always the case), especially when CL fixtures comes around.
I'm nowhere near the doom and gloom stage. Quite the opposite, there's alot of reason for optimism with young spirited and motivated squad. I see the merits of this direction over experience. Exponential growth is inevitable, particularly under a coach that is a gifted with the ability to develop young players. Forte.
Give me them over unmotivated half-arsed average senior pros blocking pathways, seeking one last payday and destroying the team / squad dynamics in the process.
Club bought a heap of experience in the past that are very far behind in development and capacity (in comparision to the players that we've got within), despite their experience and paid for it dearly....Causing insourmountable issues down the line and difficult to shift.
Content with the transfer commitee not making dumb hasty moves on experienced (household) names.
The whole rhetoric behind "PL proven" and "experience" is flawed anyway. Experience, leadership and becoming proven is gained by playing, which is what will happen with this current young squad.
I'll never subscribe to the notion or narrative that experience is the be and end-all.
I think your missing the point.
I assume it depends on your view tbf.
But to suggest that at this point that bringing in a % of experienced players to balance this highly talented but totally untried and untested group of players in this league is a flawed strategy is nonsense imo.
The club need to move up the league significantly this season whilst simultaneously developing the squad.
Imo , and others i suggest is essential need to strike the right balance, definitely agreed not making dumb, hasty moves for overpriced household names.
Waiting for the inevitability of exponential growth is a luxury, that requires several seasons, which i think commonsense would suggest the new ownerships strategy is'nt cut out for.
If this was not an issue, (FFP) , well there would be no concern where the club finishes this season .
Time will tell.
To sight what when on with the group pre Poch is not a reasonable rationale.
The issue is, 1st whoever is doing the buying has got to do better than the likes of Cucu & Khodibally.ect, ect.
Players of Maddisons ilk would be sufficient.
As far a players blocking progression, well i think that is a huge issue coming down the line, considering the contracts we have given.
Once players become demotivated , they throw their toys out the pram, look at Lukaku.
Again Cucu is an example ,175k p/ week, 55/60m fee.
He is potentially blocking Maatsen, who the club were prepared to sell.
Although i should imagine a majority of the newer players are on less wages.
Personally, i feel that for the manager & this squad to achieve its aims of a top 5 finish this season squad balance is essential.
To cover the gaps, to take pressure off the younger players and importantly when injury becomes an issue experienced calm heads can guide this young, talented but inexperienced group pf footballers.
Look, after watching football for 50 plus years, considering our performances , which have in part been very encouraging, but flawed in places i dont think it would be rationale to believe we can get a top 5 finish.
I think our rivals Villa, Brighton, Brentford are in better condition and a step ahead at the moment.
After that , we are not at the moment at the same pace as Utd, Spurs , Newcastle or Liverpool.
Finally we can forget challenging City & AFC.
This is not say , our squad is not full of potential, or i do not like it , it imo just the way it is.
I feel the club should have done more to secure a more balanced squad in order to achieve its aims considering the huge possibility of FFP breaches over the next 5 years.
It strikes me that the club has no issue with plundering the academy to meet FFP.
Imo, it not about the be all and end , its about the right balance to achieve the aim rationally in the context of time available.
"The club need to move up the league significantly this season whilst simultaneously developing the squad."
Yes, and both are not mutually exclusive.
For reference the one time, manager stuck it out with the youth in the recent years was actually one of our most rewarding seasons, I'm alluding to when Frank was in charge first stint...put his faith in Tammy, Mount, Reece, Tomori etc.. abilities and it paid-off, they were a large part of why objectives were achieved that season. Looking for the sort of uplift this season.
In an alternative (abhorrent) universe where experience reigned...
Could have been up with Hysaj over Reece
Barkley over Mount
Higuain over Tammy
And so on..
Anyways, I digressed. Pochettino has a track record of accomplishing that from his time at Southampton & Spurs (worse squads), extracting optimal performance from lowest average squads and team, that's his niche (the primary appeal and remit in appointing him in the first place).
Pochettino is fully aware of what he signed up to and I'm sure his very much looking forward to working with useful dedicated tools. Blank canvas.
What would be the point of employing a manager in Pochettino that specialises in building, thriving, elevating up the table with the lowest of average age young squads, competitive environment...if we now lumber him with experience senior players that lacks hunger, come for a payday with very little incentive to improve and actually tends to take an age adapting to Ideals? Counter-productive.
Experience is one of the contributing factors into the mess club got themselves into. If we want remain languishing down the lower end of the table, then yes buying high-profile experience is essential.
No interest in the need for "Premier League experienced" or "Premier League Proven" gimmick.
I wont dissect every point, but all I will end with is...Patience is a virtue.
Well naturally, but still i think the context for the club , not me, is governed by the need to be FFP compliant, and top flight European, C/L represents 100m + per season in revenue, and other enhanced revenue streams due to the status that inclusion of that competition brings.
I personally would prefer that the club gave the squad 2 seasons to regain this status, but amortizing at 200m + per season , with a wage bill in the region of 200m ( 10% reduction) and operating costs at 100m + requires the club to turnover 500m per season plus, to maintain FFP compliance.
Which is what it is not doing now.
FFP beaches will incur financial penalties, transfer bans, point deduction, and ultimately relegation.
All of which i do not believe will be good for the club.
The EPL is not the Italian league , where the like s of Juve and Inter can drop a league and rebound easily.
This can be recognized as potential repercussions or dismissed as nothing to care about.

The one stars on your Silva articles have the wrong idea. Despite the fact he's over the age of 20, and pretty much pushed the likes of Tomori & Gushi out, it took you approx two years to start sniping him whenever possible. That's more of an endorsement of his class & quality than anything I or anyone else can say about him on here
