Hopefully Ange learns and plays him in his natural position and keeps Son central as he genuinely can be a 20 goal a season striker
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Son scored 3 vs Burnley who gave him their whole half of the pitch to run in to. Balls over the top to run on to, acres of space.
How many teams will play like that vs us this season.
Come this weekend we are going to have +70% possession camped on the edge of the Sheff Utd box looking at a wall of 10 red and white striped shirts.
I will gladly predict Richy will start 9 (if fit after returning from Brazil today), and we will see a lot of crosses in to the box, certainly more than the 4 we put in vs Burnley.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Son doesn’t rely on space to run into, he is happy running at players and shooting from distance.
If we’re just going to lump it into the box from outside then Richy will struggle with that as well against a packed Sheff U defence. The way to goal in this game will be to press very high and get shots off early - if they stay very compact then it gives Maddison and Son time and space to shoot from just outside the box

Not sure that Richarlison is the no 9 that Ange wants or even if he wants a traditional 9, this will become clearer the further we get into the season, too early to speculate yet
From his time at Celtic his style defo seemed to work better when he had a pressing CF, a runner.
Someone that will continually trigger the press for the rest of the team but also willing to run off the shoulder of defenders.
His team didnt look as potent when using a striker that would link up and drop off to join with play.

yeah I said on here that Son up top and Rich whilst not on Kane level will be a better fit for Ange's style.
I agree about the overhype on jackson. I think part of it is because of how poor and Immobile their previous strikers have been so he looks better by comparison, but lacks actual quality. I reckon Cole Palmer may outshine him.

Jackson for me lacks the one key attribute of a striker - he isn’t a natural finisher. There are so few about these days, but he definitely isn’t one of them.
I think Chelsea will bid big on Ivan Toney come January even though he is over 25 - a proper striker is a huge hole in that team
Way too early to judge Jackson after 4 games. His all round play is very good. I think he will bag goals eventually.
Being offside all the time shows a lack of football intelligence. Doesn't bend his runs. Doesn't pay attention to defenders around him. Just chasing the ball. This isn't a 60m player

He will need to adapt because Spurs arent even the best team in the City let alone the Country.
Sometimes we will need to play differently and we have already seen Ange tweak his tactics and player positions to get the best setup, and most notable was minor changes vs United which stopped their attacks and gave us almost total control.
I think a committed Richy is a good pressing player, hard working, happy to chase and run in behind too. He can defo provide that same sort of striker that Ange had in Celtic whilst also having a bit of a physical presence, which is needed more in this league.

It's not a case of "lumping it into the box" but its something to have in your armoury especially against packed defences. City don't "lump it in" but Halaand scored plenty of headers. And you can see that our play is now far more dynamic than just countering, or just crossing.
You seem to be pinning your hopes on shots from distance, which again is an option, something we have some quality in, but hardly the full extent of our tactics.
When you have no physical presence in the box, teams can just defend narrow push you wide and make you cross it to.
Richy needs to up his game, no doubt, but i believe he will and will be givcen the chance to.

I hope I am wrong but I see this being one of those games where everyone in the stadium turns up expecting a walk over and it is anything but that.
Our recent results against them is not brilliant and because we have the NLD next week people are just overlooking this fixture.
History shows when the media are loving us, as they are right now and expections have risen, we often fall short, but under Ange I am hoping this can change. As I say I hope I'm wrong but as they are coming with a low block, park the bus tactic it could be a fustrating game and far from comfortable. A potential acca buster.
Agree with Devon in that, in our system, Richy is far more or a 9 than a winger. He doesn’t have the 1v1 ability, pace or trickery to hug the touchline
However, Son is also a better 9 than him. He makes better runs, he’s a better finisher and just overall a better player on the ball
That being the case, I think for the most part Richy will have to be a plan B striker. Someone to bring off the bench in most games
Look my opinion counts for nothing with Spurs but having watched both players a fair bit over the last few seasons I'm of the belief that Kyogo is a superior STRIKER than Richy, his finishing, his natural forward movement and placement, his awareness of his team mates passes and position and just as important his general attitude and workrate
Of course Richy is a player who gets caps for Brazil, no mean feat if honest but his attitude makes me think he could be better but simply won't? Of course I'd fcking HATE to see Kyogo leave and proper hope he doesn't but there are strikers out there that Spurs could/should get to improve an already improved squad and style

Disagree ...... Kyogo cant even get in the japan tema let alone Brazil !
Richy would run riot up here
Just skimmed through the comments and I can't quite believe that no one has pulled up Striketeam for his inaccuracies. He seems to suggest we're not getting the best out of Richy because he's a wide forward playing out of position up top. Sorry, what? He played wide forward last year and scored 1 feckin' Prem goal and contributed the total sum of feck all elsewhere. If what we saw last season was him playing in his favoured position, then god help us.
The guy just isn't very good. His best league total is 13 and that's playing every minute of every single game where the entire team was built around getting the ball to him.
Jesus is twice the player Richy is and then some. Sure, I have sympathies for any psychological issues he might currently have but let's be under no illusions. This isn't some world class player hamstrung by off field issues. It's a distinctly average footballer going through a difficult spell with his mental health. Getting his head right is not going to add 20 goals a season to a player who hasn't remotely got near that number.
It's maddening the faith so many have in him. I called it when he first joined. He's just not that good.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not a case of "lumping it into the box" but its something to have in your armoury especially against packed defences.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think we will beat Sheff U comfortably - however they set up, we’re just miles better than them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope I am wrong but I see this being one of those games where everyone in the stadium turns up expecting a walk over and it is anything but that.

The 2 leagues are barely comparable.
