With a new style we're trying to bed in I expect some bumps in the road but I think the time to see where we are with it is at least around 10 games. We have created chances with the more pressing games and, you never know, we may strike first and early in games which puts a completely different complexion on things.

Apart from City I don't see any other team who are clearly better if we play near our potential.

Not sure about that. Liverpool and Arsenal at their full potential are miles above us and somehow within 4 games Ange has given Spurs a philosophy that Ten Hag hasn’t given us yet.

I don't see it. Once we start taking our chances I reckon a lot of the narrative about our performances will change.

I'm still going to give Eth time but that time is not infinite.

However, when one compares other managers they forget to factor in Utd's size and expectations. Eth was highly sought after, his methods were raved about, why would that change? The challenge he has at Utd are probably far greater than Spurs or Liverpool, their squads weren't as bloated and imbalanced as Utd's. I think we need to be careful when we make comparisons, a nuanced approach is always advisable.

Hojlund is not going to turn prolific overnight, however, if his presence alone leads to chances for others then yes I agree.

We ease up in games to much, top teams smell blood and go for the kill, they pummell teams. Even when we're on top we ease up. Don't understand the mentality. Does that come from Eth?

This is the thing with Hojlund. He doesn't even need to be incredibly prolific to improve us. The fact he is going to stretch the defence in behind is going to leave more room in midfield for us.

I like Hojlund's game, it changes the dynamics of our attack instantly.

What I am intrigued about is how Amrabat improves us. He has a little bit of everything in his game. If he and Casemiro are the chosen two then how will they interplay, will one sit and one attack against weak teams? The understanding will develop more they play together. I hope Amrabat's inclusion leads to more cohesion but above all more control and authority in midfield. I don't want to see all and sundry come to OT and dissect us like they are prime Barca! I hope Amrabat raises Casemiro's game!

On paper we look the real deal until matchday!

One other thing, not attempting to over hype him or anything, the guy appears highly creative, not just his intelligent runs but very adept on the ball, quite possibly because he started off life as a wide player?

Erik ten Hag on Antony/Sancho cases: “Strict lines is what the club asked me because there was no good culture before last season”.

“So it’s important to to set good standards, that is what I did and it is my job to control the standards”.

“Team is above everything”.

Maybe he’s having a go at that Ralf fellow that seemed to be our manager for some reason for a while.

You would think the prospect of at least one good cross would be enticing to Ten Hag. Alas, we are here wondering if Fernandes would be able to perform. Or even Garnacho (who's never played on the right) or maybe Rashford on the right.

Play Pellestri, get chances.

Enticing only if someone if there capitalise. We don't exactly have great headers of the ball up front. Is Hojlund any good in the air? He's very good on the deck that's for sure and the ball over the top.

Pellestri and Garnacho can both actually dribble past defenders. Imagine that eh?

The only concern with both is they don't always track back. Neither of our FBs provide anything of note in attack, ok to slightly suspect in defence. These are some of the reasons why we are cautious all over the field. We either over commit and leave gaps or don't commit at all, nothing inbetween.

Should be. He's been training in the shadows during the hot spell we had.

Did Rasmus play 2 full games for Denmark?. Wondering if the 'he can't play 2 games in a week' rumour has been put to bed.

2 sub appearances I believe.

Why is it the two signings we needed most are/were not available for the first game or more after they signed.

Just adds to the frustration of this complete circus we follow
