Football is a game of fine margins. There's a lot of wailing about our individual and collective failures, but there's not much difference in quality of output between the ball that hits the post or goes a centimetre behind the goal line and two goals from those two incidents. Similarly, the Garnacho nearly-winner against Arsenal.
We've played better football against Arsenal and Brighton, against two of the best teams in the division, with multiple key players unavailable. I imagine we'll continue to get better.
What did concern me was the fact that all three of Brighton's goals were quite similar in terms of how they carved us open. They were we'll worked but we should have figured out how to defend against that vulnerability.

Does it not worry you that generally we are worse in the second half of game when ETH has had the break to change things tactically.
We lose every top half away game, have had our worst defeat in over 100 years and the signings like Antony and I will say it now Onana are very questionable.
I am not sure the Manager is actually coaching or getting to coach the players well
The Martial sub today was suicide I mean seriously does he not know this player at all the boooss he got for that should tell him something and the fact Martial did his normal sod all.
My only positive is the team has good enough players. At least for the old formation. Now Ten Hag changing his formation now was ridiculous and destined to have problems. And it was done to accommodate his perceived lack of a right winger. It was stupid. Untenable and destined to fail.
Worst part? Hes going to do it again
I didn't see any coordinated pressing in the first half
Hojlund was doing all the pressing and sometimes Bruno joins to block any outlet while rashford just stood passively. Little wonder they always got the ball out easily both halves
I watched Liverpool v Wolves and that's pressing the way Salah and the front 2 pressed making it difficult for wolves to move from first phase
My biggest positive is we are one day closer to no more Glazers. Whether that's next month, next year or 2025.....it's closer.
That's about it. Oh and hopefully Amrabat can show our midfielders what tracking runners looks like. 😂

I agree. Pressing is something you do as a group or you don’t do all. Pressing doesn’t mean stopping an opponent from advancing, it means preventing all possibilities of pass, by blocking all channels. If one player doesn’t participate in the effort, then pressing tours out to be a waste of energy.

I thought you were poor against us, alot of passing in your own half going absolutely nowhere, the majority of the time. You looked exactly the same as last year very one dimensional. No improvement on the pitch and losing control off it. Time seeme to be running out for Ten Hag.

The change of formation was dictated by the absence of all the right wingers. To be honest, I was glad to see him trying the diamond.

No, we were not. The ref was.
Yeah, you were. Your tactic was to give it to onana and hope we commit men to press him before launching the ball to Rashford.

Changing the formation of his complete career with Russo he doesn't risk Pellestri? Rashford, Bruno out of position, Hojlund playing his second formation in 2 games, leaving the formation we bought him for in the first place. Over reliance of our width of fullbacks.
Or give a young wing forward a chance and keep everybody else in their positions?
People should calm down when they keep making excuses for his mindset.
