No, I am fine with it. We are rebuilding the team abd it would have been a nightmare, trying to get rid of deadwoods, and recruit new blood and have mid week games to deal with too. This was Ange can spend whole week working with the players on team tactics.
Though, I think the tight chairman maybe groaning a bit....No extra money coming in

I don’t mind too much as I think we will be back next year so it will be short lived.

Additionally, as fun as the Champions league is, it wasn’t exactly a great laugh watching us play the bomb squad in the lesser competitions - I never liked the disdain we treated some of those comps with, so I am happy about having a break from that.

Looking forward to watching Brighton - I think they will have a proper go and would be great if they broke their trophy drought and won the Europa

yeah I get that totally and agree with it.

It's just my own personal selfishness I guess. Just love being in a Euro competition and after a 14year is becomes the norm. Also breaks the boredum of the week waiting for Sat/Sun to come before we play again.

I’ve never understood why people care about the UEFA run-competitions.

They’re all a flop. Even Florentino Perez said the CL was a commercial failure.

In terms of club soccer, it’s only really the PL, La Liga and now the Pro League that count as the pinnacle of the sport. Hopefully the new Club World Cup will join that group soon.

I think it has more to do with enjoying the football that we are currently seeing under Ange, making us want to watch Spurs as often as possible.

I still think the week to week games with the occasional cup game is perfect for rebuilding the squads confidence.

its nice to watch other teams in poor form and suffer in Europe instead for a change.

It’s weird as my son is 19 and he can’t remember us not being in Europe, a new experience for him.

I bet Levy is hating it, most be losing out on a crap tonne of revenue not being in any European comp

I’m comfortable with it. 14 years in Europe has allowed us to establish our profile as a European club, especially our dramatic CL run in 2019, we can afford a year out and I think it’s gives Ange the breathing space he needs to focus on the rebuild. Also gives us an edge over clubs like Newcastle, Brighton, Villa and West Ham who I think, once the grind of twice weekly football and travel kicks in, will struggle to maintain consistency in the PL due to the schedule.

I was glad when we finished 8th last season so we would miss Euro comps this season - allows us to reset with a new manager and sort the squad out.
It happened to Chelsea a few years back when they had no euro football and they won the PL that season!!
Now I’m not suggesting for one moment that we will replicate that feat, but it does bring home how disappointing it was to lose to Fulham in the ELC with only the PL and FAC to watch.

I’m happy enough to be out of Europe as it gives us more Saturday games.

It will also help Ange by giving us more time between premier league games.

The Europa League is a PITA but it is a trophy. Winning it would be great but you need to play an awfu of games to get to the final. You're probably better off out of it. If you fail to make it to the CL next season with 5 places up for grabs that would be a disappointment. Mind you UEFA seem to be working hard to turn the CL into the Europa league.

All good and valid points and agreeable too, but I cannot help it part of me will still miss it this week.... I'll get over it.

I miss it but I used to hate us constantly playing on the Sundays.

Call me naive but I also think if we are to ever challenge for a title again this is probably the best time to do it. Maybe the best time for any other club to pry the title away from City.

At first when we missed out I was glad because of how crap we were playing. Now that we playing decent brand of football I cannot wait to see us play again. So yes I'm going to miss these European games.

TBH the thing I can't understand is why with no European games he didn't try a bit harder to win the Carabo cup. West Ham are showing that winning a trophy - any trophy - really gives a boost.

I think it’s absolutely f*cking shameful that we’re not playing in Europe, and I don’t understand how any fan can be ok with it.

That was absolutely ridiculous too, no excuse for it.

Agreed. Spurs fans need to stop accepting mediocrity. Culture set from Enic.

We are a massive club with massive ticket prices and we should be in Europe

For one season only I'm fine with it but a failure to finish in the top 5 will be pretty tragic this time as having no European footie gives us a huge advantage (in terms of game preparation and squad ware and tear) over our competitors.

Top 4 and/or The FA Cup.

Anything less is failure.

I say top 5 because apparently it's almost certain that the Prem will have 5 cl places for next season but yes top 4 should be very attainable. Especially as Chelsea, Utd and Newcastle don't look in great nick at the moment.
