Easy in the end. Norwich huffed and puffed, fouled, pressed, ran around but had very little to offer in the final third
Or more specifically, to a 'return of the legends' match.
Wohoooooo - brilliant result against what I thought was a very good Norwich team. Will massively take that. Played well at times and defended pretty well when we needed to. Really good win though.
Still things to improve but cannot complain at anything. We’re getting results and that’s what matters.
Is this the first time Big Nige has been back to the KP? And Kingy for that matter.

That was not a very good team we were playing by any stretch based on tonight’s performance. Unless you really enjoyed watching Burnley under Dyche

And Matty James?
Improving bit by bit, no doubt. Like everyone else, surprised at the line up. And Hamza Captain? Mm.
Well, it worked better than I would have imagined. I thought Norwich were decent and workmanlike until they got to the critical section of the pitch. We harried them all over the park though and several players deserve a mention. Hermanson (although he almost gave a stupid goal away), Choudhury, Faes, Vestergaard (yes Vestergaard), Winks, McAteer and Mavididi.
On the debit side Casedei was woeful and will be lucky to make the bench next time out and Iheanacho was very sloppy and didn’t link play enough. Could have played a teammate in on goal for any easy finish but tried himself and base a mess of it. Got lucky with the penalty as well.
Be interesting to see the line up on Saturday. Can’t see Vestergaard being left out! Never thought I’d say that, but fair play. He’s starting to look like the player we thought we were getting. Perhaps he might even score!

Please God no! We mustn't get used to having Vestergaard as the key player at the back, if we manage to get promoted it would guarantee an instant return to the Championship. At least with Coady we might have a chance of staying up.
Judging by some of the comments on here and the Southampton match threads, you'd have thought we lost both games and were currently sitting in the relegation zone...
I know I have been a miserable git in the past, but some of the performative pessimism on this forum is just borderline insane. We're 2nd in the league, won 8 out of 9 games, the only one of the relegated teams to be showing any kind of promotion form, and people are already relegating us for next season At least my misery was almost always based on results and underperforming in whichever league or competition we were in.
If every win is because of how sh*t the opponents were, and every defeat is because Maresca is a bald fraud who will get caught out the second he faces someone 'decent', then there really isn't anything left to debate or discuss. People have made up their mind - that's totally their prerogative, but it pretty much kills off any 'discussion'. For that reason, I probably won't be bothering with match threads anymore - they are bipolar at the best of times, but when we're winning every week, looking a strong bet for promotion and beating our promotion rivals and there's still wall-to-wall misery, it's just totally detached from reality.

I just see this as an argument for the whole squad to be built around Vestergaard if we’re promoted next year 😉

It would be a welcome break if you didn’t bother to be honest and I’m absolutely fine filtering you if that makes it easier
As I’ve said before you’ve got an absolute nerve calling anyone pessimistic given your track record on this site. Fundamentally what this boils down to is pessimism is fine when it’s on your terms but not acceptable when it’s not. You’ve made your mind up that Maresca is a genius (as I think you did with Puel and Sven in the early days) - good for you. The rest of us are allowed to voice our views on a match thread that will always show raw emotion in the moment. Once again - if that’s a problem for you, then don’t feel the need to come on here and announce you’re not commenting anymore - just don’t comment
Real shame you’ve gone down this route as I’ve always find your contributions valuable but I’m not going to be dictated on what I can and can’t say on these threads by anyone else
And for the record - I think that we’re doing exactly as expected with the squad we have and I’m very pleased with the start we have made. BUT - I think that when we do get promoted (and you said multiple times that it would be a given due to our quality) - then we need to invest in really good players for this system to work. That’s not negative - it’s realism
