Plus Rice only wanted Arsenal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We’ll never really know, but I suspect if we’d offered £100 million and even promised him the captaincy and sold him the project where we’d build the side around him he may have come (in the summer of 2022) a full year before he joined Arsenal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We didn't have the budget to buy Kane, where would we have the funds for Rice?
Amrabat for me ticks all the boxes that Rice ticks for a fraction of the cost. His game is well rounded too.

The score line flatters us imho. Bayern didn't get out of second gear for most parts of the game. They should what their potential is when we scored and they replied immediately
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gifts aplenty from us, it flatters Bayern. Bayern aroused from slumber once the were leading 1-0 otherwise Utd were top. Despite the gifts pleased to see heads never dropped, sign of character.

Tbf all banter aside you should beat the others in group, sort the defensive side out, tweek the midfield, early days yet 👍

Early days indeed and add to the fact we have half the first team out with injuries and other reasons.

Indeed.
Once the new guys bed in, we get a few results and consistency we should be OK. The defense will be what it is until we replace Varane with someone long term and also replace Dalot.

The fact that Bruno completely loses the plot and can't even do the basics right when we have to chase a game worries me a lot.
It's bad enough that any player reacts so poorly to a setback, let alone the captain. He's meant to be leading by example but instead becomes a random ball of unpredictability and emotion. Every single time we're chasing a game. Not ideal

Emotion is fine if you have others in the team that can bring some composure. Sadly that’s missing from this group of players. Varane’s probably the only one that has it, but even he shiiiiiits the bed nowadays when surrounded by this lot.

An emergency loan signing that Spurs didn't even want has been our best player in last two games......and we don't even want to keep him and asked for a break clause in January.
This club man.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So finding a very short term loan to cover crazy injuries, one that seems to have landed on his feet, is a bad thing now?

Think you misunderstood the point.
An emergency loan signing being our best player two games running is a bit worrying. A player we don't seem to even want to keep beyond January has actually put more effort in than some of his teammates. That's the worrying part.
Reguilon, Hoijlund, Martial and Garnacho all did well, Rashford played well when he switched to the right.
Onana, Eriksen, Dalot, Casemiro, Pellistri and Rashford (until he switched flank) were pretty dreadful. The rest, very meh.
Reguilon was our best player in my opinion. Hoijuland was good but just didn't get the ball anywhere near enough.
Martial's cameo was also good, if only he could do that more regularly as there is a player in there.
I don't want to single players out but some of the recovery runs from Rashford, Bruno and McT to name a few were non existent.
Nowhere we get steamrollered through so easily when half the team don't bother to get back into their defensive shape.
