As for the owners, I would just prefer Levy stays. He is not perfect, but he is actually a passionate supporter of the club. So better the devil you know.
Of course I have always backed the Chairman, although he has made mistakes, I think overall he has been excellent for Spurs.

I wouldn`t be a happy bunny, but then I don`t get to have a say. So whatever happens nothing I can do nothing about it. Prefer to just stay as it is. It is a very stable, financially well run club, but obviously without the trophies the fanbase craves. But I can live with that, providing there is some hope of success in the near future.
I would not want us to be an oil funded state owned club.
While the ability to buy or fast track yourself to success is far more limited i would take much greater satisfaction from hard earned success.
The current regime have put in place finances that have elevated us. They have mismanaged that since the stadium opened but now look to be on a much better path, in terms of recent transfers, the structure behind the manager, Levy taking a less hands on role, as well as the type of manager who can take us forward.
I would really love for us to give this a chance to succeed, organic success built off a well run financially strong club....not off the back of the bottomless pockets of oil money and their dealings in the grey areas.
BTW, welcome back GG. Hope Spurs have been a bit of a tonic to you at this time

Agree 100 per cent. I view Chelsea and City buying of trophies as absolutely meaningless. Without the lottery wins, they would both in all probability be bottom half of the Prem teams of worse.
Just buying trophies with bottomless pits of money is not my idea of where I want Spurs to go.
To be fair to Newcastle, they have not really just gone down the Chelsea and City route of just blowing away the opposition with their spending power. Maybe FFP may be keeping them in check.

Bring on the sugar Daddies, can’t wait for consistent loser Levy to faaack off. We start the opening 5 games well after a horrendous season and Levy gets a clean slate with the usual apologists.
I guarantee you he will repeat his mistakes because chiefly he doesn’t truly believe he has made any.
I wouldn’t want oil/state owners, but I will take them over Enic/Levy, the club needs a change, it needs to recognise some of our fans would be perfectly happy with winning domestic competitions at the expense of the odd CL qualification
GG ..could you please explain this....
"Lewis controls ENIC, which controls Spurs, but as Companies House documents showed in October last year is no longer a 'person with significant control' of Tottenham Hotspur Limited."
It seems to be totally contradictory. Do you mean Joe Lewis is no longer interested in Spurs, perhaps because of his legal problems in the USA?

Hi GG. Good thread and I think most normal-minded fans would agree with you. We've had a taste of what 'buying success' looks like. Albeit under owners who weren't willing to push the limits of FFP to achieve it. It's pretty soulless.. I have a good friend that was a City fan and jumped ship after the first title win. His social media is all about his local club now. Because how you win is important, if you truly care about the game.
All of which to say, Levy's bad decisions aside, I think ENIC have been good owners. You only have to compare where we were before then to see that. I certainly think a new Chairman and senior leadership is necessary for us to avoid those Levy errors, and that might necessitate new owners.. but I wouldn't want any trophy at the cost of our identity as a club.

Yep money flowing in but Levy to retain his status at the club - probably why most the talks have gone nowhere
Morning GG..... welcome back ! Hope you are doing, OK ?
Re a possible takeover, given the environment we live in at present I suspect its inevitable. The simple truth is without major investment and major increase in spend on players Spurs simply won't be able to compete. with that said there is something very positive going on at Spurs at the moment and personally i think it's something that that should be seen as healthy for all Spurs fans given where the club has been for the past few seasons.
The narrative around the club and around Ange in particular is new, refreshing and honest and I think a pride has been rediscovered in our fan base.
I have been one of Levy's biggest critics (& rightly so for a number of poor decisions he's made in the past few years) BUT you now have to be fair and give the credit and a reasonable degree of support when he has finally got the club moving in the right direction.
Like you I would prefer to back Levy for the next couple of years without simply jumping in the direction of dirty oil money at the first opportunity.
There were some very insightful things said at the Forum the other night that make me want to get behind the structure that Levy has put in place. I think the way Ange handles himself speaks for himself but for Levy to be honest, open and actually make decisions that back up what he's saying gave me a new found respect for the guy.
Of course, he's far from perfect and it could all go tlts up but there FINALLY appears to be some joined up thinking, a clear direction, a manager that understands the restrictions we have as a club and both manager and owner now seemed aligned in taking responsibility for moving us in the right direction.
I love that Ange has said he doesn't want to win a trophy just for the sake of it. He's said he wants to build something that can be organically successful.... I'll take that over a league cup win and then nothing for another decade, especially if the football is good & you we can see a clear strategy in place.
I hope the negative noise can die down for a while, we can all just enjoy what's in front of us and see where it goes.....I've got my love for the club back (in a much shorter time than I would have expected) and that's something Oil money cant buy.

Thanks Diamondlights…………totally agree with everything you have just said. Fingers crossed that we move forward with Ange but don’t panic if something goes wrong too.π
