I go dressed as a Pearly King and gob on the reception floor on arrival so people think I'm Tomkins.

Not fussed by a hotel and despise all inclusive garbage.
A decent bed and windows is all i ask and no issue with tenting it to get to great spots..Inca trail etc.
Been three times. All before my daughter was born but had our son with us, I think at ages 2, 3 and 5. Hotel definitely make or break when I go on a holiday with my wife as she loves a whine and it ruins the holiday when I I can't take it no more. All inclusive was a must with my son there, with the countless ice-lollies, ice-cream and snacks demands.
We tried without all inclusive the first time and it didn't work out. Although a lot of that was my fault. We sat at the bar, my wife doesn't drink but I was having a few beers, then my son got tired around 8. So she suggested we go up to the room. I told her I'd finish my beer then be up. I had a few more, then decided I wanted to explore. So I walked out of the hotel and decided to visit a few bars in the vicinity. Last thing I remember is talking to a big Russian guy in a nightclub type place. Next thing I remember is standing in an apartment block with no shoes on at 6am, I'd just spent a lot of money on them before I left for the holiday. I had no recollection of how I got there. So I walked out confused with no idea where I was and therefore no idea how to find the hotel. I saw some guy walking down the street and turned out he was from the same city as me. I asked him to call me a taxi, which never arrived. He then decided to help me find the hotel and I bought a pair of flip-flops on the way, turns out the hotel was only a few streets away. I walked into the lobby and there is my wife coming out of the lift as I'm preparing to enter it. She walked past me and didn't speak to me for the rest of the holiday. In fact some time after that!
Needless to say when I told friends the story when I got home, I was asked if the Russian guy drugged me and stole my shoes and of course if I was walking funny after it. . I still have no idea how I ended up several floors up in an apartment block, standing up, awake, with no shoes and no idea how I got there. But I was not walking funny!
And no, United will not win.
Oh second time we went, Liverpool were playing Barcelona in the second leg of a CL semi-final, 3-0 down from the first leg with no Salah and Firmino. There were about ten of us, the rest all seemed to be from London area(I'm not perfect with the accents). I was wearing a Liverpool shirt watching the game for good luck. They were having a right laugh at my suggestion we would go through. They were furious by the end of the night. A great night.
I normally check in wearing a Man Cheaty fake shirt and use a stolen passport, go down for breakfast twice using different room numbers, then check out without paying the tourist tax. When I get home I deny I’ve been on holiday and burn all the evidence of my trip.

Ate loads of great food, drank myself stupid and watched every single episode of OFAH.
I have no memory of what the room was like what so ever.

That is exactly what it was Baz. I didn’t care though as it was down time after six months in Bosnia / Croatia.
I am off to Mallorca or Majorca, next week, to hotel Leanardo which used to be known as Hawaii. We have been coming to this hotel for years and recently had a change of owners. Still we won't go anywhere else as long as the hotel remains the same with same hospitality and staff we love!
A decent hotel is a deal breaker for us, as we want good location closer to the beach, adn the amenities.
Can't wait. Enjoy your stay!!

Majorca as well as Protaras in Cyprus has always been one of my favourite holiday destinations, Alcudia specifically.
I've stayed at the Alcudia Pins four times. It's a decent enough hotel, clean, big pool and right on the beach which is great as it means you don't have to decide whether to spend a whole day at the beach or not.
My favourite hotel in Alcudia that I've stayed at was the Prinsotel La Dorada which is basically on the other side of the same strip that the Pins is on and up the road a bit so it's not far from the beach at all and the hotel itself and facilities are very good. I'd love to go back.
I've been to Magaluf as well with mates which was good but it's not really a holiday for me.
