I don't think you can include Partey he's been injury prone ever since he joined the club. You could ask why was Partey not moved on in the summer and replaced. Martinelli had that long period out but since he came back into the team he's been pretty much ever present. We will have to see about Rice hopefully not serious. Arteta has got issues with rotation though he hasn't done it effectively I am concerned with the likes of Saka he will burn out sooner rather than later he very rarely if ever gets a break.

I didn't like the way Saka torqued his knee after the Tottenham player fell over it. And he looked like he still hadn't shaken it off by the time he got subbed off.

One of a million ways you can feck your knee ligaments up.

I don’t think rotation is an issue, Arteta has previously said that best players play all the games and that’s true. The issue with Arsenal is muscular injuries, Partey’s injury record before joining us was very good. Rice same, now it’s too early to say anything about Rice, but it’s more than a coincidence that he’s now injured too.

Bone injuries can be down to many things but a lot of the time it can be quite unlucky.

Preciscely! I don't mind impact injures so much a la Timber for example, but the "muscular", soft tissue ones are REALLY piling up at the moment, and I'm just wondering what can be going on to cause this? Martinelli, Trossard AND Rice in the space of days ffs

I think if that's Arteta's attitude then it's a very naive one. Football has changed even from twenty years ago its much faster and more explosive, muscular injuries are going to be an increasing factor with fatigued players. Add into that ridiculous schedules, world cups mid season, meaningless International friendlies. You simply can't have the likes of Saka, Odegaard for example playing every minute, to me its just madness. Also the fact that you've got someone like Smith-Rowe just sitting on the bench most of the time twiddling his thumbs is just plain bizarre.

Just lots of injuries in general this season. Obviously United have got plenty. Then there's Mings, Henry, Enciso, Nkunku, Reece James (if he counts)... Can't remember a season like this in that respect and you have to feel that too many games, and the World Cup last winter, are contributory factors.

Arteta definitely doesn't rotate well, whether it's the reason for the injuries isn't certain though. He's learnt a lot over the last couple of years, effective rotation is something he really needs to learn too.

Arteta should be rotated to another club!
