Top player who we need to wrap in cotton wool if it's true he is carrying another injury at the moment. He just gives that extra level of security and calm and he's pretty decent on the ball. All those who said he was just average and only rated because he was English can now see he's the real deal, he needed to move and play in a system that is progressive and allows him to express himself and we are seeing his quality in abundance.

Top class. Not sure he is the most important player, as Saliba, Saka, Odegaard all stand alongside him in that, and when fit Partey is a decent enough back-up.

He is playing well but no way is he our most important player. It has to be Saka followed Saliba. Rice needs to add more forward passes ,runs and goals to be a top top player. A lot of his passes tend to be backwards.

Declan Rice is so much better than Partey. He never loses concentration and stays within himself. Every bit a £100m player. He is a key player, along with Saliba, Odegaard and Saka. We lose some quality when he doesn't start, but Partey is a pretty damn good alternative. The only player we cannot replace is Saka. He is a creative midfielder who can play CM and wide. If you show him to the middle he plays like Odegaard but with better shooting, and if you play him wide he can play like a winger. Very very unique.

There’s a reason why CM/DM positions are so sought after. They’re more in demand than the no 10 positions in latest trends. You’ve always needed a very good DM to be a successful team even if over the years they’ve not been appreciated. Rice is unbelievable, he has such a Roy Keane like persona about him

Not sure most would agree with the first sentence. He's good but not so much better, Partey is a rolls royce of a midfielder and has better technical ability. The only area in which I would put Rice above him would be tackling. Partey is better at virtually everything else, passing, dribbling, evading the press etc

Glad to have them both but Partey is too good to simply be back up. I would rather drop Havertz and push Rice forward.

Top top player glad we got him but would also have liked keep Xhaka and Partey made of butter.

Rice is clear of Partey, and as for "passing, dribble and evading the press", Rice is a clear step up. Partey often cost us losing possession one way or the other.
Pushing Rice further forward is a pretty ridiculous suggestion.

Ok if thats your view cool, you seem to think its objective though lol, its just your opinion.

I think Partey is better at everything else but tackling like I said and its ridiculous to suggest "Rice is clear" thats just wishful thinking. Partey is a top player to suggest the gap between them is large just because Partey has lost possession in the past is just delusional lol.

Players like Rice are so good that discussions of how much he cost are always off the mark. Players as good as him and have that leadership aura are so rare that you have to pay a premium and the reliability he offers means the price you paid while never looking like a bargain will just be forgotten about and thought of as a great investment.

Worth every penny.

Especially as you never had to pay it

Nope, Rice is excellent but when Partey is fit he is as good as Rice, I think that they would be very effective together too but Partey was one of the first names on the team sheet last season for good reason.
The most important player is clearly Ödegaard, he is quite brilliant & we have no adequate replacement for him at all.
