That one tackle he did was Romero-esque. Had to double check it was him. In that moment I thought Porro looked like a younger relative of Romero.

Udogie and Mickey had a harder challenge of dealing with Salah.

he was decent but I thought he was pretty clearly our worst player, specifically after they went down to 10 men. some very cheap give aways. really not suited to breaking down a side like that

Prior to that though he was excellent and it was the perfect kind of game for him, very back and forth and physical

I'll be honest, there were one or two occasions I thought he did poor giving the ball away in a moment, then it took for the commentator or a close up to tell me it was Bissouma instead. I'm sure he did give balls away though but as fans watching the game we will still miss things that others pick up on. Maybe I missed his more poor moments during the game.

they were both excellent defensively too, but got less involved on the ball. think they both had about half the touches that porro and Romero had

I thought both Udogie and VDV in particular, aside from Porro, had good games. VDV is a class act and has hardly put a foot wrong. Good reading of the game, great challenges, and lots of pace to get him out of trouble. Lee Dixon in commentary said he didn't realise he was so fast when he had to put the afterburners on. Someone should send him that clip of VDV running one length of the pitch to the other.

It’s not as I thought vdv was excellent and now I feel bad

Porro though was fabulous yesterday. The stats and the eye test show it.

The winning goal helped seal the deal with Porro though. Until then we had Kulu doing the predictable cutting in on his left and it not really coming to anything. Then Porro suddenly crosses and we get the all important winner from it. But he was very assured in defence before that anyway.

I want a right sided Udogie. I don't like Porro's size or his defensive capabilities but he is slowing winning me over.

He was good yesturday, can't argue with that, but MotM? Not sure he was that good.

If Brennan was fit I reckon Ange puts Kulu at 8 once they go down to 9 men, similar to the end of the Sheff game. Against packed defences we really need to get wide and around the back of teams

Yeh he was excellent. I thought he was our best midfielder yesterday.
