Disband the PGMOL and put to pasture anyone associated with it. Start a new organisation. Been saying that every time, not just now when it's Liverpool undone.

Sudden uproar has nothing to do with Liverpool being at the end of a VAR controversy?🤣
Lots of clubs were at the end of controversial decisions even when playing Liverpool but hey no meltdown then?
Like someone said sheet happens until it happens to you 😊

What sudden uproar? Not from me. Check my comments in other ref articles this season and even going into last season.

The day Mike Riley got promoted to head of PGMOL confirmed that corruption was real.
The only set of fans who ever really deny it is Man Utd fans, 13 titles does that to a person I guess.

How can promoting someone to head of the organisation be incompetence? His job interview for that role was at Old Trafford in October 2004 and he passed with flying colours.

well we don’t know what was the. criteria for the role?
Mike did have lot of support from within i recall this

His peers admired him tbh but fans dreaded him officiating one of their games because of controversial way he officiated

It is to remove the difficult decisions like split seconds one’s off the officials and give them a way to review things in more humane times not milliseconds!
But who knows now!
I would review of the original remit has been met and or even it has exceeded it
I have seen VAR interfere in a game so what’s the point of the officials in the middle?

PGMOL have bought the game in to distribute. Been doing it all season. If this was the US the FBI would have been all over it.

Who is the beneficiary of such corruption?

Man City. Pretty obvious even to someone with your intelligence I’d have thought?

Of course you are. You’re always like this so unless you live by a pool in Spain then you’re more likely telling porkies. Swimming pools don’t make people stupid, you were just born that way.

People always get a bit silly with these things. Absolutely awful decision but corruption claims are pretty baseless.

For me its just clear the system is set up wrong. TMO rugby style decisions are so obviously the way to go. Let the ref and VAR watch at the same time (fans can see too) and publicly discuss the decision. You don't get miscommunications then.

Aweee still hurt 🤣😭

I do go to Spain a lot and now I am in Palma. I watched the game in a local restaurant and loved it. Winning and silencing a bunch of Liverpool fans was worth it!!

The silence from them was to behold. the decimated hopes to beat Spurs were there to be seen on their faces. 👍

Yeah, it feels like all of the worst decisions of the VAR process should all have been easily avoidable and can all be rectified going forward with basic training.

Take today's situation. If they had formalised language (like rugby uses) it would have completely solved the issue:

Ref: on-field decision is no goal due to offside.

VAR: OK, player was onside so you should award the goal.

Instead you have a VAR not paying attention and thinking the goal was given, the ref not making it clear ti VAR that the goal was not given, and the CAR using the very vague "check complete" phrase rather than clarifying the outcome.

Giving the refs mics would at least allow us to see how these decisions were made.

posted on 1/10/23

It's beyond embarrassing. Especially if this rumour is true of VAR not intervening because they thought the on field decision was goal given.

I’m 100% with He Who Dares and Red 666.

This wasn’t corruption in any sense of the word, but sheer human incompetence.

No one can complain that the ref “‘lost it.’” To lose something, you’ve had to have had it in your possession in the first place. Sadly the ref didn’t.

Curtis’ Red card, not for me, yellow. I accept others will disagree.

Diego’s first yellow, wow! Just seen it on MOTD, the back heel of the Spurs player connecting with Diogo’s knee. Yellow card.

Steps to consider taking:

In my view each card decision should be appealed, and I strongly suspect in the circumstances be given a very sympathetic hearing.

Due to the standards, competence etc., of the on-field ref and linesmen, none of them to officiate in any LFC game for the remainder of the season. The word ‘corruption’ has been used time and again on this post; with a total complete and utter lack of any evidence to support that the users have got it wrong.

The match officials simply weren’t/aren’t up to the job. Our team lost a potential 3 points from their incompetence.

Finally, well done Spurs, you got three points. Not sour grapes from me, no way, that’s football, but I can understand their manager’s frustration by how they played. They could have been playing until now and still not have scored. It took Joel, God bless him to put it in the back of the net for them to win.
