‘Delay the game, delay the game, delay the game’
‘They’ve restarted, nothing I can do’
‘****’!!
Wow
Well done boys good process
Incredible the VAR replay operator actually noticed before the qualified referees
I mean this is just cultural right? How can you say: "are you happy with the decision?" and dance around the sh11te instead of being more direct like Dutch/Germans would do: "Jan, it's onside, goal counts, you/lino saw it wrong...
I would be furious if colleagues communicate like this in a high pressure situation.

Very surprised they’ve released this, it’s not a good look
That’s bloody awful. I don’t care about the restart rules, the ref was told to stop multiple times.
'Can't do anything'

Use some common sense ffs

They’ll be getting sacked
What does it matter if it restarted or not?
Surely they can put a few seconds back on the clock.

"Cant do anything"
But you can allow a legit goal to be called offside. Pathetic
Thats funny, I actually think it wasnt that bad - it was just a massive panic

It was VAR that was told to stop it, the on pitch ref didn't hear any of that audio and was only aware at half-time.

I don't get why they never thought to stop the game, have the ref/4th official explain the situation to both managers, and then re-start the game from kick off.
Some initial embarrassment but then it's sorted
One thing which I haven't seen discussed much, is the urgency of getting the decisions done as quickly as possible. There's been so many complaints about lengthy delays for VAR checks, and it's clear from this audio they're just in a mad rush to confirm the decision as quickly as possible.

Yep. Would've been forgotten after about 5 minutes.
The incompetence is actually astounding.
it's pretty shocking tha they didn't already have better communication than this but at least for once with VAR this is actually quite a clear fix.
The murkier problems are going to remain though
